His stats aren't eye popping because Hoyer couldn't use him like Cutler can. As Forrest Gump would say they go together like peas and carrots and one without the other is not as great as both together. Let's see what happens now if both can stay healthy for 8 more games.
+1 I may be crazy, but I'm thinking the second half of this season could be fun to watch if we can just stay relatively healthy. Man, we're due for some good luck injury-wise. If that happens, the 2nd half of this season could be 180-degrees opposite of the painful 1st half of the season.
And maybe that's not completely crazy thinking when you consider how many young and new players were thrown into the mix this season. We could see significant improvement moving forward now. Even Loggains may show some improvement after having 8 games under his belt as the new OC. Cutler does seem to like Loggains, so maybe we will see some good stuff with these too working together this second half of the season. I'm actually excited about the Bears again. LOL, but I'm an eternal "glass half full" optimist. Crazy old coot who loves the Bears :-)
CSN Chicago did a poll and 73% of the fans responding thought the Bears can win 7-8 games in the second half. I think that may be a bit too optimistic but it is amazing how one win where they actually looked like the team we've expected them to play like can change perceptions.

I think two things fuel this. Jay is looking really good now that he's back. That is HUGE for this team. The other is that the first half of the season was literally "on the job training" for a lot of new people. Some of these newer guys look like they could be really really good once they know their butts from a hole in the ground. We could start seeing some solid football now.
And I know it's "cool" to hate on Loggains. But his play calling has improved tremendously I think. That too bodes well for the offense.

It surely did against Minny once he had a full compliment of skill guys to work with and his OL played lights out. I can't imagine the OL being worse with Long and Sitton back so yeah, I think all of that bodes well for the offense.
The blocking was so poorly coordnated in the first two games it almost like you can throw those results out for everyone. Even if we did manage to hang in there for a bit no one played all that well for very long. Both were a disaster.
Since then he seems to have done what he could. We don't really run a WCO scheme but with Hoyer that's about all he could do. Without any downfield threat they're gonna put 8 guys in the box and play a lot of man coverage with a single Safety. I would too.
Then as soon as Cutler returns and there is a downfield threat he can open the playbook up a bit and with running game that's working now he can some play action and rollouts. Without a run game and with a weak armed passer you're limited by that and he was.
