It's that Chicago "Lovable Losers" thing. The McCaskeys know they have a cash cow no matter how bad the product is that they put out there on gamedays. The fans will spend the $$$ anyway and the McCaskeys laugh all the way to the bank. It's a pretty good scam when you think of it. And we (fans) fund it all for the McCaskeys. Lovable losers... that's probably a better description of us fans, than of the team.
Look at some fans here. Going 8-8 and back peddling in the playoff is consider good enough. Isn't good enough winning the Super Bowl? Every team needs to improve itself but if we keep this constant mediocrity going then we will never move out of the mediocrity period. Get ready for Lovie Smith 2.0.

How much ya wanna bet the McCs are gonna use "well, we made the playoffs!" as an excuse to do nothing more than window-dressing?
Never mind that making the playoffs this year was a fluke for multiple reasons and we had zero chance to make a run.

I'm afraid it will be slightly worse than Lovie 2.0 considering Lovie had a 59.6 winning pct and 31-21 overall record (2-2 in the postseason, NFC Championship and a Super Bowl appearance) after three years vs. Nagy's 56 winning % and 28-22 record (0-2 in the playoffs).
Also, Doug Pederson, who ends up w/ a 46-39-1 record, 53.5 winning pct, three playoffs appearances and a SB ring, was fired yesterday, so don't tell me that Nagy's too good to be moving on.

And some fans here want the Bears to lose every game. I guess the thrill of the unknown is too much for some.

I don't know that a half-hearted fan base helps.... let's check in with the Chargers.

I wouldn't call the thrill of unknown is too much for some. Some just see a ahead. This team is the 5th oldest in the NFL and has the 2nd oldest defense in the league. With all the cap we spend on defense, we're not getting a return on investment anymore. As well as our O just being terrible yet again under Nagy for 2 years and one average year.
