And some fans here want the Bears to lose every game. I guess the thrill of the unknown is too much for some.
I wouldn't call the thrill of unknown is too much for some. Some just see a ahead. This team is the 5th oldest in the NFL and has the 2nd oldest defense in the league. With all the cap we spend on defense, we're not getting a return on investment anymore. As well as our O just being terrible yet again under Nagy for 2 years and one average year.
Well hopefully we an have 4 zero win seasons in a row and have a nice ripe young core of unnurtured youth we an watch run around the field with angst.
Cubs had the same problem. When the fans finally stopped owners had to sell and the new owners worked at building a winner.
Fans of the bulls and bears havent learned.
Again if you dont like the product stop buying it, stop watching stop going to games and stop buying merch.
That is a good point. The problem is that the Bears franchise has been blessed with some of the most faithful fans in professional sports. The loyalty even spans generations. From grandpa to our dads to us to our kids, we have backed the Bears since the Papa Bear Halas days. Ric, you are right about people needing to go to another sports team but Bears fans will never do that. We have our Butkus or Payton jerseys hanging in the closet and desperately hang on to the memories of 1985. Every so often the franchise will trot out the '85 team members... the ones still living, and we'll all remember fondly those good old days. Then we continue to keep hope alive that the Bears will someday figure it out and win another SB... and have a true franchise QB.
It is what it is. I can't fault fans for caring. The sad fact is that the Bears organization doesn't deserve these great fans. The McCaskeys really don't deserve them and are unworthy of them. I'll bet if George Halas was still alive things would be different though. He had a passion for the Bears. Now, it's just the family cash cow.

I have one jersey hanging in my closet. One. Butkus. The wife got me a Cutler jersey when we nabbed him. That has long ago seen the fire pit. I haven't had a new jersey since and it may be a long time before I get another. I haven't bought any bears merch at all since longer than I can remember. I don't know how I can further un-support this mix-mash of mediocrity.

I have to confess that my only Bears jersey is a George Halas #7 jersey (one of the newer custom versions though). LOL, it doesn't get any more old school than that. LOL, I'm serious. I really do have that jersey.
PS. It all went down the tubes when they moved on from the leather helmets. That was the beginning of the end :-)

I'm jealous!
I have three jerseys: A-Train, Booker and Urlacher. I'll trade you all three for your Papa Bear jersey.
