To a point yes but so far my eyes tell me Whitehair is the real thing. Any kid who can step into a position like OC that he never even played in college tells me this kid knows football and he's a "baller". He also now has the versatility to start anywhere on that line. That's a good pick in anyone's book.
Howard passes the eyeball test too but with a RB you never know. Some get off to a great start but get nicked up a bit and never fully recover. He plays a hard game and dishes out some punishment so how that will affect him longer term is harder to say. But for now he's a bell cow.
Floyd is coming on but his best games have been against less than stellar OLs so with him we really need to see where he's at after 16 games.
But at this point, the Bears need him to be playing well against less than stellar OLs. To me thats a good sign. If he was struggling against less than stellar Ols its a problem. It setups up experience and learning on the field. Plus I'm willing to bet that most pass rushers have their best games against less than stellar OLs.
That's asking a lot even for a guy like Clowney and Bosa. They need to just perform and get an idea of what it takes to preform. Even the worst OL's in the NFL are still NFL caliber. Not even A-A-ron Donald started preforming right away against the top OL's. He only had 3 sacks in his first 8 games(sound familiar), and the best OL he faced was Sea, which was week 6. AND he was surrouned by legit talent on either side of him, Leo had Hicks and nobody else. Now that McPhee is healthy you are seeing Floyd start to preform.

Sure, there is a learning curve for how to play at the NFL level. From day 1 back in junior high Floyd has been hearing how elite he is, and it was true. Then HS and then college I bet that most of not all highly drafted players come in with an over inflated sense of self. Then a meh-OT punches Floyd right off the bat and it's like "Crap!! Harder than I thought ." Does this happen to all rookies? Most likely not, but those that get it, get it and the others turn into Gholston.
It also tells you don't be to quick to judge anything. I'll wait until after the season to even really try to think about what we've seen from the rookies, and wait until year three to decide if they were a good draft pick.

I hated the Floyd pick last spring and remain skeptical but happily admit he's put together back-to-back good games. I want to see him A) stay healthy and B) finish the 2nd half strong to prove my doubts wrong.
