So the short version is that he decided to be a leader and then he won. Whoooda thunk it. What a concept.
Or, he's always been a leader and because of the media driven narrative people have spent years propping up a false false narrative based on isolated shots during football games and some vague concept of 'body language.'
Maybe the short version is that the OL played well, there was a running game, the DEF wasn't gassed from having to play 40 minutes, and the coaches called a good game. Could that be it? No. Must the lazy option that still allows people to slam the player that the media has determined is the issue. That must be it.
This board is getting a da-bears feel to it recently. Lazy posting, ill-conceived arguments, complete unwillingness to critically examine....hope the trolling doesn't follow.

Of course it could be. But how do you know that all of those things didn't happen better because of Jay's speak and getting the team fired up? You know.... being a leader. I don't know either way because I was not there. Unless you were, I suspect that just like me you are giving your opinion. Either possibility can be true. But just because something happens does not mean that there is not a reason it happened. We simply don't know.
What we do know is he gave what was said to be an inspired speech and that the players responded well to it. We also know that he played well during the game. We know the line played well during the game. Jay was out there congratulating his OL (I have not seen him do that before -- does not mean he has not -- just that I don't remember seeing it). The running back ran well.
Could the speech and how he was leading the team have had nothing to do with those results? yeah. Do I believe that was the case? no.
I do think Hoyer is a premier back up QB. The problem is yards are not points. For the over excitement about his passing yard, we need points to win. I am seeing a better game out of Loggins. A lot of football left to figure these guys out. Maybe the future is not so bleak, maybe.
I did too Mike which led to my comments about the handcuffs coming off the game plans and the play calling. I felt they got a little to stodgy for a series or two but that was about it. They mixed the play selection up well with 30 passes and about 30 runs.
The biggest indication of this to me came late in the game when we were just trying to move the chains, keep the ball in bounds, and eat up the clock. We had a 3rd and long and Cutler rolled right with his RB out in front to take a short toss but he was well covered and would have been stopped short of a first down. If Hoyer is at QB he makes that throw but what did Cutler do? He wheels and throws back door to a wide open Zach Miller who gets the first and we keep the ball. Hoyer would never have made that throw.
So that's just one example of how more aggressive scheming by an OC and decision making by his QB help to win a game and yet THAT play hasn't even been mentioned even though it was one of the most important first downs of the game. Minny had gained momentum by scoring and that one took the wind out of their sails and gave us another two minutes with of badly needed ball control. This is just one example of some of the little differences I saw last night that made it a much better game.
Hopefully we are seeing Loggains settling in at OC for the Bears. I thought Monday's game was the best offensive game plan we've seen out of Loggains so far this year.

yeah... I've been silent about that. I noticed the same thing and did not want to jinx it. IA m definitely keeping an eye on it.

i would go much further than just Loggains best game, much much further

Please don't tell us how much further you are willing to go. This is a family board.
