It's a open competition so no way of knowing so other
1) Mitch plays like last year or only moderately better Foles wins if he looks like he had in Philly. 2) If Mitch plays up to his ceiling then, or Foles shows more like he did outside of Philly, I don't think Foles beats him.
I'm with ric. could go either way depending, but I chose Foles. Experience usually beats out the young guy, unless there's a large difference in ability. And I don't really see that big a difference..
Mitch will be the starter, but on a leash so to say. They aren't going to kill the kid's confidence by replacing him with a guy who has 7 more NFL starts with 5 more years experience.
Unfortunately IMO Mitch's guillotine lies on the effort of his surrounding cast. If the rest of the offense doesn't rise up, it won't matter who you have back there lmao

I agree. Mitch knows he is on thin ice. But the supporting cast needs to step up.
I see it this way. If the supporting cast shows but Mitch doesn't show up then he is gone.
However, with the way this year has been going, who knows what is going to happen.

If Mitch starts, I sure hope the rest of the O has confidence in him and gives maximum effort.
Let's remember that Nagy did bench Trubisky for a series last year (end of Rams game) and frankly, we all know he would have been benched for the rest of the season if the team had had a better alternative than Daniel. I can't imagine there's a lot of confidence in him among the rest of the offense right now until/unless he really earns it in TC & PS.
That's another reason why I feel Mitch is going to have the higher burden of proof to win the starting job in 2020.
Mitch will have his opportunity to start but if he struggles he will be benched. The preseason could be shortened so that also would make me think Mitch will get first shot at starting.
