Bears fans are funny that way, completely disregard the reporters as no nothing hacks and anti bear fans and yet way more often then not they are correct.
A guy that has been reporting on the league that long has sources and comnections and anyone with a clue has known that contract was the only reason cutler was still here.
Pace and fox have completely overhauled this team of its long standing vets. They actively tried to move cutler for mariota the 1st year they were here. So what makes you think they really were ever interested in cutler long term?

Myself included also. But I still think the media is wrong. I am sticking to at least a 10 win season this year.

I like to be glass-half-full too at the start of a season. It's no fun to be a constant Debbie downer type. the NFL is very unprdicatble every year which is what makes it fun. Who thought Carolina would be 1-6? Who thought Dallas would be 5-1 after losing Romo? Or Minny after losing Bridgewater?
I thought, with a soft schedule (and it is soft), we would be 8-8 with a legit shot to get to 10 wins before all the injuries set in. Even allowing for the crap performances against Philly and Dallas, Houston, Indy, and Jax were all winnable games. We had 4th Q leads in all 3 and blew them with an O that couldn't score and a defense that got gassed and isn't good enough to hold leads without offensive support. The Bears scored 13 total points in those 3 4th quarters and 3 of those were after the D forced a sack fumble deep in the enemy's zone. That's pathetic.
Point is, even allowing for Dallas and Philly being better than most thought they would be, this team could be 3-4 or even 4-3 right now and still in the picture rather than being NFL roadkill.

I don't have time to look up every author of every article I read. I barely have time to read through the threads. What concerned me was the article was from Bleacher Report which has had some spotty authors in the past.
