You're probably right, we should take a look. What about practice squads, there must be some good materials there too
Could be.... Though this guy belongs on an active roster and is a victim of injuries at other spots... GB would love to have him back but with so many injuries that aren't bad enough to put guys on IR.. NO is having the same problem.... In the Bears case, they can use Hoyer's spot on the roster if they want...

As long as we're gonna lose games anyway I'm actually enjoying seeing Fox and Pace swinging in the wind over their draft decisions these past two years. They painted themselves into the corner all by themselves and they won't find any easy ways out of it any time soon.
Cutler may not have been a top ten QB but he was no worse than a dozen others like him who needs some blocking and some support around him. Now we go to battle with Matt Barkely who didn't look too bad on any pass that actually made it beyond being tipped at the LOS and picked.
I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for Fox and Pace right now at all.
Sometimes there is an opportunity hidden in a crisis being experienced. Maybe this applies a bit to our present season. We've already had a chance (due to injuries to starters) to give our young/new players a chance to get experience - and for the team to see what we have in them. It's not a situation you'd want to have (the massive amount of injuries to the team) but maybe a tiny consolation is that this might help the team next year.
Just one example was being forced to play Whitehair at center. At first many of us were angry about him being there - especially when he struggled his first game there. But now the guy looks like a foundation piece to anchor the OL in the future. I think this guy may very well be a perennial All-Pro center after this year. Who knew?
Even if Cutler comes back for the next game, we still are a QB short on the roster. What would it hurt to bring in a kid like Joe Callihan and kick the tires on him (as a backup)? If there is something good there, keep him. If not, then no harm... just let him go at the end of the season.
With the OL injuries, maybe there's a similar opportunity to grab a PS guy (a young guy with upside) off another team's roster and bring him in too. Same scenario. This is probably the year to do that kind of thing. Next year we may have a few guys who benefit the team due to this unique season of giving youngsters an opportunity.

You've watched him... what's your opinion of him?
Played light years ahead of most rookies. Very impressed with his poise and accuracy
Rebuilding is a practiced skill. But to do it successfully you need an awful lot of luck
LOL, we've had tons of luck, but unfortunately it has all been bad luck :-) Looks like the Cubs finally had some good luck though, so maybe it will someday come to the Chicago Bears too.
