I said it before the season started, the Packers do not scare me this year. I noticed the regression of the team overall last year.
The team in its current state, is second tier. Along the lines of Washington and Los Angeles. What it lacks is effective quarterback play. Decent team, crappy quarterback... If Rodgers snaps out of his funk it will again be on the short list of Super Bowl teams. Right now, the offense revolves around the worst player they have on offense, sadly enough....

The team has been trending downward though. Their stars are getting older and their young players don't seem to be all that great. Rodger, Nelson and Matthews I believe have been the face of the team and they are all on the down side of their careers. I still think Rodgers is going to be ok but don't think he'll have a lot of great years anymore. The may want to consider moving on from Lacy as he still has value but isn't really helping the team so I would trade him.
The problem with the Packers are their faced franchise players.
- Rodgers 33 - Nelson 31 - Matthews 30
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Packers are a declining team. Rodgers spent years holding up that franchise from a mediocre season. Ever since that Seahawk game he changed up his rhythm and this is the results. Having TT and MM there ain't going to win you guys a super bowl. With each passing year Rodgers loses another year in his prime. Before you know it he will be history.
The Packers ain't like the Patriots. The Patriots are not a team built around the QB. They're a team that's built around a scheme that works out well. You can have backup QBs come in and do well. You can't have 3rd string QBs and do well.

On offense Lacy is a FA and will not be resigned due to his eating problem. Nelson is getting up there but their receivers other than him are young and ascending. The offensive line has nobody old on it. They are all either young or in their prime, and very talented. Sitton is gone but he was always hurt anyways and was getting time to move on from him. We haven't skipped a beat at LG with young Lane Taylor.
The defense is full on young players on the rise. Matthews and Peppers are getting old but other young players are stepping up. They have young ILB's that are first or second year that have stepped up big time. Glad now we didn't sign Danny T. They also have young players at OLB developing as well(Fakrell etc). The secondary is the youngest in the league with budding talent (though most of it is injured right now).
The statement that a few players are getting old and there is no talent behind them is just not true... Spread the word...

There is some truth to this but mostly false conjecture. You guys had us getting old and fading through Favre and Reggie White's years. Players come and players go. There will always be new players ascending as there is now (I could list about 20 if you'd like).... The reason we are 3-2 is we have the worst quarterback in the league right now. An average quarterback performance against the Vikings and Cowboys and we win those games.
We are the team this year that makes every opponent feel good (for at least that 1 week).
That's sadly true. In all seriousness, Cleveland is the only team in the league the Bears are clearly better than. All the other laggards (Jets, Niners, Jags, etc) are equal to or better than Chicago.
i honestly think the Bears are easily in the bottom 5 of the NFL. Probably the bottom 3.
