White was good when getting the ball thrown to and having a bit of experience. He got better every game.
He has the potential and physicality to put up those stats. If he does it, is he still a bust because of 2 injuries in his first 2 years?
You are saying he is a bad WR that will be out of the league soon enough because he can't run a route, catch and everything. THAT is dreaming...
He played 3.5 games out of 32. That's bust level. You ain't going to make it far in the NFL with that. How many players come back and become great after missing that many games their rookie career?
Sure he has the potential just like Floyd but that doesn't mean it can happen.
It isn't dreaming when its the reality. Have you seen how many targets he's have and how many he caught? Have you seen the kid cost us games because he stood there not knowing what to do?
What I truly want to know is are we going to start White over a better player being Meredith?
So we're calling a player who has had injuries , and hasn't been on the field much , a bust - even after he started showing obvious improvement ( after knocking some of the rust off ) after getting a couple games under his belt . Ridiculous ... and it's obvious some just WANT to call him that . Anyone listening is a mental doughball .
I wanna see a healthy season first - then a proper evaluation can be given .

When it comes to Fox I truly don't know.
Meredith isn't really better... they are the same Level but Meredith is more polished yet.
I don't care how many games he has missed so far. It doesn't matter because we suck with and without him. I care about the next 1-4 Years. Thats when we are ready and the roster has to be build to make the POs. If he is there making his catches and scoring his TDs, he isn't a bust.
In other words: He is not a bust yet and we don't know what he is. So far, it's too early to judge.

Meredith is much better
So if he missed 64 games you wouldn't care?
I hear this all the time when it comes to us. Next year or so is what matters but what truly matters is now. Do we have talent? To be honest NO we don't. We have some but not to the level of a real NFL team. Pace drafted two guys who weren't day 1 ready, who were raw coming out of the draft in hope the coaching staff can fix them. Both have been terrible.
Also fun fact, Bullard has more sacks than Floyd now. If you miss twice on top 10 picks its going to set this franchise back.
If White is there not living up to his top 10 pick yes he is a bust. Any WR can just be there and make catches and TDs. If you're not doing 1,000+ yards a season after being drafted in the top 10 you are officially a bust.
I don't know if Fox is in charge of the first round picks or what but things need to be different. We need to draft for the best day 1 player available. After we get a steady team going along we can start worrying about projects.

The only things shown over the past games he was playing was Hoyer was targeting him more than any other WR on the team. White then missed half of his targets with bad catches and etc... Has still yet not to have a 100+ yard game unlike Cooper or Fuller.
This is a TOP 10 pick we're talking about. Not a undrafted rookie.
If you can't stay healthy in the NFL which he isn't you ain't going to make it far. Remember 3.5 games out of 32 games played. Name me players who were able to make a comeback and become a franchise player after missing that many games. More importantly WRs...

When it comes to starting a career , and being snakebit with injuries , no one pops to mind . You can read Jerry Rice's Wiki page though - it says he struggled his rookie season " dropping numerous passes " and didn't 'impress' till later in the season .
Does White need to stay healthy ? Yep . Does he deserve to be called a bust yet ? Nope .

Did Jerry Rice only play 3.5 games out of 32 his first two years?
No? Well that isn't a good example. Rice also had one of the best QBs in the NFL as well throwing to him.
I mean Hoyer is having a great year and all but I don't think he's one of the best qbs to play the game.
Rex Grossman comes to mind, 7 starts in 3 years. Went on to have a very meh career, but had one pretty good season thanks to the rest of the team. Bob Sanders was hurt a lot, but gives you an idea of what can happen when someone CAN get healthy, even for a few years. While on the outside he might look like a bust, I doubt anyone in Indy, or their fans think of him like that. Dez Bryant comes to mind also, only played 3 games his rookie year, got up to 9 games his 2nd year, and has been fine since. If White can get his body healthy then there is no reason to think he cannot go on to have a good career.
