Crappy Colts beat Bears - who gets the deflated ball?

I'm angry too, Soul.  I am just as frustrated as everyone else.  We all deal with it differently.  I keep hoping we don't have to go through another GM/HC change soon.  I may be the delusional one :-)

One of my major disappointments is that we did add talent and Fox advertised his expectations for a big jump in the talent level of some players in their second years but this has yet to materialize.  Just like under Trestman this team has regressed in year two of Fox's regime yet has played a much easier schedule to date than 2015.  That's not progress as promised or even close to it and we both know that.

In another post you spoke of "facing reality" and while I admire your faith and how well you state it above maybe you need to face some reality too.  There was a point in time when very few knew the unsinkable Titanic could indeed be sunk and then, in time, everyone knew.  You see a ship (team) that's already been sunk that Pace and Fox are trying to raise and that's OK but I see a submarine diving once again.

It's all just a matter of perspective.

But my perspective is based on an aging HC who thought so little of his #1 RB he allowed him to walk only to think so little of Forte's replacement that he tried to sign another of his former Broncos instead.  When that failed he drafted another RB who looks like another Forte but with power but kept him on the bench until the guy he had little faith in to begin with was finally injured.  He also repeated that same strange way of putting his best players on the field at a few more positions too.

Now he's cooking up a QB controversy that needn't exist.

After last week all we read from the national media was that Cutler was done yet those local writers who were smart enough to read past a stat line made the right call.  Cutler is still the better of the two and still gives the team a better chance to win.  So the national media and the Cutler haters get their wish and Hoyer starts again this time against another team just as bad as we are and he throws for nearly 400 yards.  Did we win?  No  Did we even score more than the two lousy TDs we got last week or the two Cutler was able to score against the toughest defense we've faced so far?  No

I'll back you when it comes to Pace for at least one more year because I see Fox's hand stirring the personnel pot with more and more stupid moves like the deadly accurate Connor Barth who can't make a FG from 50 yards even given two shots at it.  I believe Pace actually does have a plan if he's ever able to execute it without "gramps" guiding his hand so often. But as for Fox, no.  I see no plan at all from that man.  All I hear are weekly non sequitur comments about seeing progress when overall there has been none.

Faith can move mountains but it's not gonna coach players up all week long to win on Sunday.  Fox and his staff have to do that. And all the faith we've been told to have in our draft and FA acquisitions hasn't helped to avoid a Bobby Massie or a Leonard Floyd not to mention a thoroughbred WR with another broken leg we may have to shoot soon.  I'll have faith again when I see progress but in my mind that progress won't begin in earnest until Fox is gone and we have a new HC.
