Snarky response which is totally tongue in cheek: Didn't know the Browns were in playoff contention. Just kidding.
But...why would they add Cutler? Yes they have done dumb things in the past (Manziel, Hoyer, Griffin, McCown...) but what could they possibly hope to gain by adding Cutler? They just got burned by not drafting a QB high, you have to believe that the Browns will be drafting a QB this year come hell or high water. If that is how we want to process this, then I could argue that the Packers might trade for Cutler because they don't have a good backup for Rogers and they have done dumb things too. Maybe the Texans would trade for Cutler since signing Brock hasn't worked out so well for them.
There wouldn't be any reason for the Browns to trade for him which is why everyone makes fun of the Browns. No one knows why they do what they do.
So basically..there is no reason the Browns would trade for him, yet you still consider it likely that they would trade for him. Good to know.
I'm one that still thinks Cutler has some trade value, though it's not a very high value. I'd rather have a 6th or 7th round draft pick than just cutting him if the offer is there. This of course is me assuming a team would have interest.
I still think Cutler has value for a team as a solid back up or replacement for an injury. I can't help but think of the Vikings situation when Bridgewater got hurt and they traded for Bradford. It seemed like a bad until it turned into a brilliant idea. What if a team is in playoff contention and their starting QB goes done and they don't have a good enough back up. I think it's possible they would have a good amount of interest in Cutler. It's possible they could get a third round pick for him then.
I don't think he has much value either, but I think Jay can get something back.
This team shouldn't even be thinking about what they can get in any trade . They should be thinking in terms of NOT HAVING a true # 1 starting QB on their roster .
Bingo. Hoyer is a decent, not good, but decent, backup. What Soul said in bold above is the reason he is not starting anywhere except on an injured Bears team. As through as the media, the city, and this forum appears to be with Cutler, he is still our best starter. We desperately need to replace him, I won't argue that any longer, but Hoyer is not that guy. Cutler needs to start as soon as he's healthy.
Bingo..
I think the only reason he is here is his connection with Loggains

I knew it. Probably has some incriminating photos that are disgusting. Pace must be involved too somehow. I'm getting tired of the scandals. First Trump and now this.
Why would the Bears do that? I mean look at the stats (at least one of which is wrong), cheery picked to prove a point, presented in isolation and without context!!! The Packers would be ripping the Bears off!!!
