I don't want a new GM, I want a Coach that wants to win instead of one who is happy with mediocre results. We should have given Gase the Job instead of losing him, the TB route of HC.
There's something to be said for the QB who keeps ur team 'in' the game . The guy who keeps the team working hard for 4 quarters cuz they believe they have a chance to win the game .... or we could switch back to the guy who fumbles and throws int's all the time and usually has us 'out' of contention by the middle of the 3rd quarter ( but at least he throws the long jump ball to Alshon Jeffery better .. and MIGHT have spotted him open on 4th down on the last play of the game ) . Sheesh , the things people hitch their wagon to .
Blue, again the problem is that neither is a clear best choice, and what does that really tell you about the options? Meanwhile that guy that wasn't worth drafting in the 4th is setting NFL records for ball security, WHILE throwing darts and passing/rushing for TD's. 10 TD's, 1 fumble, 0 picks in 200+ drop backs(passes and runs). Ya the OL helps him, but the reality is he's still making the right choice and putting the ball where it needs to be, and he's been sacked 7 times, so it's not like he's not getting touched(4 in 1 game, normally 4 sacks is when it's the OL's fault and the WR's fault and the OC's fault b/c Cutler turned the ball over and had a bad game).

That's all
Fox wants to win.
But with this present roster it's like sending a guy to a gunfight with a pocket knife. Nothing good is going to happen this year. Gase wouldn't be taking this team anywhere either. He's got his own crap 1-win team now. He'll be gone soon from Miami.
It seems like fans want us to go to the "Cleveland Browns Model" and keep cycling through GMs and HCs. It doesn't work. It never has worked. At some point you have to give people a chance (time) to turn around a crap franchise. It is painful to go through as a fan. Fans want instant gratification. We are not going to have that here in Chicago.

Yes, all true. But this is his roster. He redid it in his image. Its the guys he wanted--starters and backups. Can't keep extending the payoff into the future. At the least progress was expected this season and it hasn't happened. Coaching again seems to be an issue, play calling seems to be an issue, and player development seems to be an issue. So how long does he get? 6-10 last season, whats the best case scenario at this point? 6-10 again? 5-11? When next year starts 0-5 because there is a rookie QB starting does he still get a pass? How long does Fox get to ride a team that had a HOF-QB and an elite DEF that he couldn't even win with?
I believe the team is stuck with Fox for the rest of this season, but I would sure consider 'pushing him upstairs' and turning the team over to Fangio in the off-season.

Those are all good points. I'd like to see him coach next year and then make a final judgement on Pace and Fox at this point. This is Pace's team. These are his players. These are his coaches. He is the GM. If he whiffed on Fox then that's on his watch too. Might as well sweep them both out at that point and go with the "Cleveland Browns Model" of cycling through the GMs and HCs.
It bothers me that so many people are so satisfied with Hoyer because he's put up really good stats. Stats are great for fantasy football but I want a QB that is going to put some points on the board when they get in the red zone. I don't know if Cutler would have won the game but I've watched him enough to know that he's not afraid to give his best players the ball. I know Cutler can make some passes into the end zone. I agree with what Jeffery said about stats and not winning.

What's not to like about Hoyer?
He gives the ball to EVERYONE. He isn't a turnover machine like Cutler. I don't hold my breath every time Hoyer throws the ball.
Without Hoyer White wouldn't of as many balls thrown to him. Without Hoyer Meredith wouldn't of got balls thrown to him like he did.
Hoyer is building young players confidence while Cutler just ignores them and throws to AJ all game.
I'm not saying Hoyer is the answer because he isn't but he's the best QB on the team so far.
We can draft a QB next year in the 2nd which is Pace's sweet spot when it comes to the draft.

You used the word " neither " above . Both have their pros and cons ( with more cons than pros ) . Hence THEE reason we need to draft a QB next year ( and every draft until we find one ) . Period . End of story .

I'm not a fan of firing your Coach every 2nd year. I'm not a fan of firing Pace.
It's just that with Fox, we are mediocre for sure and this won't Change. Fox won't be here for ever and it's time to say goodbye after the season. Fox doesn't want to win.
I want to find a HC that is here to stay longer. I want a HC that works well with our GM. Hiring Trestman was beyond stupid and trying to be smarter than everybody else. Hiring Fox was hope but yeah... it's not working out and we are not getting better. We just added a QB controversy after Cutlers best season as a bear. Fox has no plan and it can be seen. Pace has to do his homework, hire a HC that will work well with him and that doesn't want control over the roster as much as a Fox/Lovie has and then build something with a Young GM, younger Coach and your new QB.
