Just heard on The Herd that Jim Harbaugh has said he's definitely not leaving Michigan and going back to the NFL. So there's that.
and now Defilippo certainly won't be a HC next year... A dark horse is current interim HC Joe Philbin... The Packers offense looks good against the Bears defense he may be tough to over look...
Anyway, looks like I was way off w/ Harbaugh and DeFilippo. Honestly I still believe Carmichael would be your best option. Not too young, not too old, offensive minded coach, spent 12 years w/ the Saints coaching one of the best QBs ever and learning from one of the best HC in recent years.
If you're serious about giving AR something to work with, he's your guy.

Hard to like this but I gotta say there is A LOT of Packer hate here and @pitsme takes it well. I can't imagine if one of us was over on one of the Packer's forums we would be we would take the hate so well.

I want the guy who is the brains behind the offense.. Not a disciple of the guy who invented the offense... Teams adjust to you and you must be able to create different schemes. I want not only a guy who's innovative but a leader... Getting multi million dollar athletes to listen to you takes leadership.. There are many great coordinators who were crappy coaches. If they feel the dude from the Saints fits that bill I'd be fine with it... PS, I do feel Fangio possesses all those qualities... It's just that I want an offensive mind as the HC who will leave the defense to Pettine... You'll see this week that even without talent, this GB defense is generally assignment sure.. They have no good pass rushers yet they are near the top of the league in sacks. I want to see what Pettine can do when he gets some guys that can rush the passer...

So far they've interviewed a couple of retreads... Jim Caldwell and Chucky Pagano. The Lions never should have fired Caldwell IMO so for the sake of both of our favorite teams I hope he signs somewhere else. He's a good coach.
Now that the NFL is spreading out and becoming more college-like it should be much easier to recruit the best college minds to the NFL. Though I don't know if I'd want to leave a cushy college job if I were a great coach. They have the best gig in sports... If they have less than 4 years left on their contract they get an automatic extension so they can tell their recruits "See! I'll be here the entire time you're on campus."
Any wildcat fans here with knowledge of Fitzgerald?
Not a NW fan but all I can say is he's turned a small and irrelevant franchise into a very decent Big Ten team. He's a defensive-minded guy, so I'm not sure he's the kind of guy you guys would want around AR but he is also a great motivator. He was one of my five candidates I wanted the Bears to interview last offseason.
