Many here were saying week 1 that the Texans were a much different team. How does this different team lose to a back up's back up QB at 27-0? Its either we truly are bad or Belichick is the best Coach/GM in NFL history.
What's really upsetting is that defense was coming along fairly well under Fangio and Donatell but now we have starters dropping like flies. Part of that may be because of the lopsided TOP that has the defense on the field for 2/3 of the game.
We've now lost our best pass rusher from last year for the entire season, we can't even get Mr. Violent back on the practice field let alone the playing field and if we do which 2015 version of him to we get? The guy who had six sacks in 8 games or the guy who has toast after that. If I was a betting man I'd say Pace gambled on a guy with a degenerative knee and we have another Tommie Harris deal here. He'll play because of his paycheck but he won't be nearly as effective.
Then there's Trevthan and Goldman gone and with it a lot of the stoutness up the gut which may well affect Freeman's play. Two or three DBs are banged up so we'll have to see how that goes on Sunday but as it stands it could get ugly fast if the offense under Hoyer is even worse that it has been. We couldn't come up with a decent pass rush against two mediocre OLs so how well do you think we'll do against Dallas and a mobile QB?
Then on offense we had to take the one guy who wasn't missing blocks off the active roster so we could activate another QB and as of today they still haven't announced what the deal is with Cutler although I'm betting against him starting. Carey is out which means a healthy dose of Langford again and up to this point has anyone seen anything in him that tells us he's even close to Matt Forte on one of Matt's worst days?
Man, this is like going from the frying pan into the fire. So far these guys have been an embarrassment again. I really don't give us much hope at all of winning these next two games so that's an 0-4 start. So it's still all downhill until I see something different.
