So a rb isnt worth taking in the first bc its a wasted pick and you can get them anywhere but now nothing less then a 1st is acceptable for a rb?
One on a cheap deal as Howard and is a Pro Bowler.
I know getting a 1st round is highly unlikely this year do to the draft class being good with RBs.
Personally I would prefer a 1st round pick swap and Howard to gives us a better chance of drafting a top 5 player this year.
SO trade a for sure top five player for a chance to draft a top 5 player, and then lose the chance to draft a top 8 player and keep your current top 5 player? While jettisoning current talent sounds very Pace, I don't see the logic in this.

Huh? I'm trying to reason this out. Are you saying offer Howard in trade to swap from #8 to say Denver's #5? Why?
If 3 QBs are taken before us we'd get a top five player at #8 anyway and some feel 4 QBs may go before us. The only way we use Howard in a swap is if Pace decided he had to have Barkley to take his place. If 4 QBs go we might see Barkley still on the board at #8 anyway but I don't think he's who we're looking to draft.
And you aren't responding to Ric's post.
He's pointing out your belief about no RB being worth a #1 pick if you're a buyer but as a seller you'd take no less than a #1 for Howard. Sounds a bit conflicted there monsters.

I'm of the opinion that giving up significant value (a good player, draft picks) to move up in the 1st round rarely ends up being worth the price or risk. For a QB, I understand it--teams often have no choice because QBs go so fast and you're sunk without one. But for any other position, its pretty rare for it to be worth it.
Ex: We moved up (even just a little, at relatively low cost) for Floyd a few years ago. Was it worth it? Has he been soooooooo good that missing out on another player we might have taken in the 3rd didn't matter?

Again every person is different. I may not value the RB position but some desperate GM might.
There is no way 4 QBs are going in the top 8 and a small chance of 3 going.
For me I say trade Howard and get either Bradley Chubb or Minkah Fitzpatrick. No one can deny that these position are far more important even now more so then ever with the Vikings adding Kirk Cousins.
Heck some of you who value the RB position. Would you give up Howard for a Barkley? Barkley would most likely fit this offense much better.

I've said that since we drafted him. I always felt Floyd was a reach for what we gave up.
Say instead of it being Floyd it be either Jalen Ramsey or Joey Bosa would you give up the same amount to get them? That's what I'm talking about in terms of top 5 picks.

I saw a tweet yesterday that sums it up well for me, no one should want to see howard traded, but we should all understand it if they did.
Howard is a stud rb, and if they keep him great, but if he doesnt fit the system then you move him
He gets 4.6 ypc. If he doesnt fit the system then change the system.
This "doesn't fit the system" thing seems like something the author pulled out of left field to give some validation to his article which is more click bait than reality. Even Biggsy said it's nothing anyone familiar with the team has any concern about and there's been zero talk of moving him.
I believe even the Howard for Landry thing was invented by some Miami fan or a writer in need of a storyline to use and that became it. Most of us here have far better insights than 90% of these sportswriters who need to write something just to stay relevant for another week or so.
Seems we have someone else who likes to do the same verbally on the national stage.
