If he wasn't a #1, then why is everyone acting like we lost a #1? People are losing their shit like last year when Jeffery walked(by his own decision not by Pace's who gave him a longer contract and more moeny). He's Cam F'n Meredith, he was nothing more then the 3rd WR on this team, and the 3rd wr was never going to get many more targets then Cohen or Shaheen; and that was if he was healthy, which by his own accord he has no timetable(moved to by start of the season, but what does that mean if he missed all of TC?).
And why are people so easily discounting Hub/Lemming(after his ranting)/Biggs, or any of the many others(Mills from espn chicago radio and the entire group of Bears all Access). Cam is a good 3rd/4th WR that is has the ability on a bad team that gets injured to step into a higher role. But GM's/HC's should want to aim higher, and their fans should want them to aim higher also.
Hell I'm happy for Cam, I think he ended up w/a all time great qb on a team that can likely use him as they don't require speed across all the O. He'll be higher on the depth chart and he'll get a chance to earn a bigger contract in 2 years; staying in Chicago limits his visability to 30-40 catches.
IMO they are, and isn't that what matters
lets move it down a notch then, and just say people are way over reacting to a player all seem to agree wasn't going to be a major factor in this new O; b/c no one seems to disagree w/that; and yet they are acting like he was.
I get wondering about Sitton, just like I did when they let Slauson walk, and when they let Forte walk. But They've shown an ability to find new players, no GM is perfect; especially when his qb is in flux and he has a lame duck HC(which were issues last year). This year I'm more then happy to see what he does b/c so far imo he's done just fine getting 3 huge pieces to the O, and a huge piece on D(lynch) and keeping other key pieces to the D(fuller/Prince).
