I like Robinson a lot but I'm also wary if only because JAX decided not to tag him. If his own team won't consider him untouchable and tag him that should throw up some caution flags. As it stands we'll need to tender Meredith whose coming off his own serious injuries for $2.7 mil and we'll also have the perennially injured Kevin White getting $2.7 mil guaranteed in the last year of his deal. Do we want to risk another $25-$30 mil or more and $14-$15 mil a year on yet another injured WR?
I'm not saying we should avoid Robinson but much like McPhee I think we have to ask what does JAX know that we don't if they feel they won't risk $15 mil tagging him. As good as this looks I think we need to proceed with caution.
Here's another option for a big body WR (6'2"/216lbs) who says he wants a one year deal.

Maybe Robinson should be willing to accept that as well.
Robinson, Meredith, and White would be the outside WR crew. Wilson shouldn’t cost much and is rumored to be all but official coming to Chicago thanks to the Nagy connection. That obviates the need to re-sign Wright. Bellamy, Inman, and a day 3 pick (4th-5th round) can compete for the backup 1-2 spots with Wilson being the primary slot guy. That’s a huge improvement in top-line talent and depth over the dumpster fire we had last year.
And it it shouldn’t be all that expensive either. Robinson will obviously cost some money and I’d like to see Pace “stretch” there to get him. Wilson won’t cost much. Let Wright go and cut Wheaton. The net “cost” there really isn’t much and it eliminates the need to draft a WR in round 1 or 2.
Make it happen, Ryan.
