I guess if you believe you have to be the worst team in the league to get to the top, then we are on our way. I just don't see the Green Bays, the Steelers, the Patriots etc of the NFL tearing it down. This isn't the NBA. Except for maybe 1 surprise team every other year this holds true: the perpetually good teams stay good, the perpetually bad teams stay bad.

Never thought we'd lose to a bad Eagles team at home. We made them look better than the Browns did in week 1!

My bad, the poll was Fox/Loggains not Fox/Pace. I'll stand by my vote there but you're right Pace isn't exactly immune from criticism.

Angelo failed as a GM because he couldn't draft or build an offense.

Emery remedied that but failed via massive draft whiffs on defense (Shea, Bostic, Hardin, Vereen, Fuller, etc) and a collossally poor decision to pass on Arians for Trestman at HC

Now, early in the Pace era, the warning signs are already appearing. Fox doesn't appear up to the task of turning around a 3rd flailing team. Trading Bennett and Marshall for peanuts has denuded the offense. And his draft picks right now aren't working. Langford is already a bust in my mind. White was a terrible pick and will be considered a bust a year from now. Floyd is overmatched at the NFL level and was another wasted high pick. Even Whitehair is struggling despite being surrounded by two pro-bowl guards. The only "quality starters" Pace has been able to draft so far are Goldman (abive average) and Amos (just so-so) despite having 2 straight top-10 picks.

It's really hard to be optimistic going forward after watching our recent high draft picks show virtually nothing.

I'm not going to blast Pace just yet. We all knew this was going to be a 3-5 year rebuild. It's only 2 years in, and the team does have improved talent level and is younger. He got unlucky with White last year. Everybody knows it can take a year or sometimes more to acclimate to the pro game from college. Let's see where we are after next year. However, hiring Fox as HC instead of Gase was a blunder. Or at least setting down Gase's path to HC of DaBears after Fox's 2nd or 3rd season and locking him into it.

Fox. The honeymoon is over. Hell, the wedding is over. It's time for a divorce if he can't get the O fixed. He can start by firing Logjam. I don't know who we can replace him with. Is Ron Turner still around? Hell, Shoop or Shea might even be better than logjam (just kidding).

As for Pace, he's made some blunders which are now coming home to roost. If you're gonna trade/release "poor fits" for "your new guys", you better make sure your guys are actually promising. So far, I see little evidence that White or Langford will ever be serious weapons in this league and frankly I hated the Floyd pick from the minute it was made too and nothing has changed my mind on that either.

Usually you see some flashes of skill or athleticism from good young players. I have not seen such from either of Pace's #1 picks in the preseason nor in the first 2 games. It doesn't bother me so much to see a young player blow an assignment or a route but I find it deeply concerning that neither one of the #1's have yet to display any degree of a WoW Factor.
I also don't get the excuse Kevin White has never had a NFL level route tree. He has been with the Bears for a year now. Did they hide the playbook on him last year? Sure he has to run the routes and couldn't but in my mind this is 80% mental preparation 20% practice. A full year of mental preparation has got him only this far?! I'm hoping it's mostly confidence because he sure looked great playing against college players making aggressive athletic plays on the ball.

This team has managed to draft only ONE true head-and-shoulders-above type player (Long) in the 1st round over the last 10 years or so. That explains a lot of why we suck and lack playmakers on either side of the ball.

D was fucking trash. No pressure on Wentz, the **** are you McPhee... Floyd is not ready for starting role, not even situational. He created no fucking pressure at all.
O was fucking trash. Only highlights were Royal(who I am very glad we didnt cut) and Jeffery perhaps also White.

and fucking injuries.. **** this season
