yeah. Not even sure how a guy as banged up as he was was even able to get on the field --- much less be as effective as he was. Once he is 100%, the dud is a beast.
As hurt as he was, Fox kept letting him get on that field. Like a win or two really was going to matter this year.
Apparently, he is going to have two more surgeries. I am guessing that one will be the shoulder. Hope he gets them done soon and starts rehab.
I understand it was a compression fracture to his neck so Mike Glennon will have some of his neck transplanted to Kyle in order to lengthen in. Mike says he no longer needs it to see over the OL because he'll be sitting on someones bench most of the time from now on or managing a Dairy Queen somewhere in the Carolina's.
The guy has, and continues to have a lot of injuries. His best days could very well be behind him now. I hope not. But let's see.
How about we give the man some time to heal unlike the past few seasons in which Fox rather save his own ass then allow Long to get better.
This is a guy with 3 injuries out there and willing to play. Let's not kid ourselves and say he's like a Kevin White who can't even get touch without being out for the season.

I hope he can get healthy and play well again. He will be 30 years old next year, and has had a number of serious injuries and surgeries, and missed significant playing time. Think about it. This is a 320 pound man who explosively combats 300+ pound men on every snap of the football, game in, game out, all season long. The surgically repaired knee, neck and shoulder are put under immense stress (and these are not his only injuries... just the more serious surgically repaired injuries). Could he come back at age 30 and be just fine again? Yes. But it's not a dead-bang "given" that it will happen.

And given that he has two more procedures to go, when will he even begin a full rehab/reconditioning effort? March, April??
My guess is he will miss most/all of TC and likely a lot of PS. Not that him getting healthy is a bad thing. I agree with everyone else that he needs to really get healthy, just that he may not be ready to begin playing until August or September.

The fact that Fox played him hurt just to save his a** says a lot about Fox.
Thats not just a Fox thing...thats a league thing. You can't imagine the injuries these guys play through. Kyle is as tough as they come, I don't know what he had done to his neck...but hopefully it helps.
