I’ve been thinking that too, Malaga. Again, way way preliminary at this point but...sounds like Chubb prob won’t be there at 8 but Key/Ferrell are more like mid-1st rounder types. If that’s the case and Pace likes one/both of them, a trade down to the 15 range would be ideal. Need a partner though.
Teams trading up in the 1st are usually doing it for a QB. Here’s those behind us who could be in the QB market:
Cincy (12): if ready to move on from Dalton Washington (13): If Cousins leaves Arizona (15): Palmer prob retiring now that Arians has, need a an in pipeline regardless
MPB, I actually redid a coolaid mock where we trade down our 1st (8th overall) for Arizona's 15th and their 47th (2nd round).
I live in the Phoenix area (the Cards are kinda my 2nd team) and I can tell you the fans here are pissed the Cards didn't draft a QB last year. I was expecting them too as well. I thought for sure they were gonna take Kizer and was shocked when they passed (that may have proven to be wise since DK sucks). Anyway, everyone here knows Palmer was/is on his last legs and he and Fitzgerald have floated retirement talk going back a year now. Both of them were tight with Arians. Now that Arians has retired, I'm expecting Palmer and Fitz to follow suit this winter/spring.
Steve Keim (Cards GM) is pretty sharp and well-liked here. He knows a QB isn't a luxury anymore. Both their backups, Stanton and Gabbert, have proven to be backups ONLY. They either have to draft a QB high up or get Cousins this year. I don't see any other options available.

Hmmm well we have a Neck for them!!! I mean a Glennon.

LOL, I think any chance that Glennon could be viewed by any team as a potential starting option were destroyed this season. He will be some team's 2nd or even 3rd string only going forward.

Noooo this was all Foxy's fault. He is actually a HOFer type guy. I know QB's bro!!! I am Canadian!!
BTW ya hear Manziel is cleared to be offered a contract in the CFL by The Ti-Cats. WOOT!!! I can possibly see him play when Hamilton comes to town and be outcoached by Trestman. Life is GOOD up here bro!!

There is I think a great chance that a QB like Mayfield may fall to 8th or even 10-15. Off topic I have always thought your weather there was ideal being arid and dry with very occasional rain. My family hates the weather in Chicago with a passion and just today we had sunny skies and 73 degrees in Malaga.

LOL, its sunny and in the low 70s for a high all week here while most of the rest of the country freezes. The weather in the Arizona desert is simply amazing 8-9 months of the year. The sun shines almost every day and it's rarely cold. The downside for all that is there is a 3 month or so period (roughly early-June thru mid-September) when it's hot. I mean....BRUTALLY HOT. I mean MELT YOUR FACE OFF HOT. Your choices are: stay inside in the AC or leave town.

Life is a series of trade-offs
It is similar here. We average 300 days a year of sun and it can climb to 115-120 degrees inland. Of course the spike in extreme heat is totally due to the climate change. But don't try to tell Trump that. 😂😂😂😂

Like you said Palmer is retiring. Great time for Pace to work the phones.
