Depends on the cost, you never want to overspend on a player, it only hurts you on the back end when the contract is burning you while the play on the field is hurting you.
Need a rusher high also no doubt but you can get both in the early rounds
And not having the right player hurts you on the front end AND the back end.
agreed so why pay to much for the wrong player? See we agree on something cheers to us!

why would you want the wrong player to begin with? I thought the whole premise was that we were talking about a player that could help us.
Who says that Fuller could help us? He's had a very up and down season; and that's in a contract year, and that is several years in a Fang def where he finally figured it out; next year no Fang so new system again. Will it take him another 2-3 years to figure that one out?
There are a lot of questiosn regarding Fuller, he's not a sure thing. A rookie might not be either, but we aren't talking about a great player vs an unkown rookie. We are talking about a vet that has been up and down his whole career, including this year vs an unkown rookie.

Yes. But the scales are much more skewed towards helping. Which other CB we've had in the last 4 years would you prefer? The guy looks like he is starting to get it. If we develop guys for other teams and let them go, we will never get to where we need to be.

Not over the full 4 years; and again this is his contract year so it's hard to level the scales properly.
That's like asking me which qb I would want over the last 4 years; the answer is I would prefer none of them.

Lot's of players are not the same players they were 4 years earlier in their career. Why is it ok to pay an aging player less because of his last performances, but not pay a player that is ascending based on his last performances? You don't make any sense.
Fuller is worth what he's worth which is probably a deal in line with what top 20 CBs get. Those max out at an average of around $10 mil per year. If someone wants to pay him like a top ten CB we should probably let them do it and draft another like him for far less money. He's played well this year but he's not a shut down CB.
Peanut in his prime became one. That's his measuring stick.

Who said pay less then he's making now? I never said that. I said don't overpay b/c some team decides to pay him to much.
