I’d be shocked if GB let Adams walk. And Adams would be stupid for not wanting to have Rodgers throwing to him. So.....I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
Is Pace going to keep Meredith? And Inman? Is he going to draft a WR (my plan would be in the 2nd)?
I can’t see him signing TWO free agent receivers unless the answer to the above questions is ”No”.
Meredith is an RFA so he'll be tendered and if Inman is willing to sign something like the two year deal Wheaton got with only one year guaranteed there's a good chance we'll be able to keep him as well. But both are #2 type guys for us. I'm gonna be looking at Watkins and Robinson as potential targets.
+1 If they are serious about developing a franchise QB, then they need to provide him serious weapons. Meredith and Inman are good, but I sure would like to see us provide Trubisky with a wickedly good WR in the draft. Then I'd like to see us keep Meredith and and the best FA they can get. I agree with MP that the 2nd round would be a good place to draft WR this year... there will be a rock solid one there where we are drafting in the 2nd round.

So would I but even before that we need to stabilize that OL or who we have as receivers won't matter if he lacks the protection to throw to them. Year two he needs a strong run game again and for Cohen to become a bigger part of the offense. Once we have that threat our passing gam becomes effective again. Right now it's not.

I hope that Pace will provide both the OL and the WRs he needs to perform well. It is an outrage how we've often failed to give our QBs the resources to succeed here in Chicago. My hope is that this will change with Trubisky. But if not... if they are not serious about giving him what he needs, then it's just going to be the same as the last 30 starting QBs we've had in the last 25 years (we have had 30 different starting QBs here since 1992). Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If we are not going to change, then why even draft Trubisky at #2 pick of the draft? Just go with whomever... Glennon, Sanchez.. who cares? It won't matter anyway if you don't give the QB what he needs to be successful - and that is a solid OL and solid receivers. Both.

Oh I agree 100%. After we lost the OL who took us to the SB all we seemed to do was try to get by with second tier UFAs and draft picks at OG and the OTs we did draft high failed. Some of it I suspect was poor coaching and some I suspect was poor schemes and play calling.
This predictability on offense is nothing new. It's plagued us for years and it will plague Trubisky too of we don't make some major changes. Defense may win championships but offense gets your there. We need much better offensive talent and coaching than we've had.
Well we really need a #1 type outside receiver. I like Wright in the slot, plus I don't think breaking the bank on a slot receiver is beneficial. So we have 3 guys: Robinson, comming off an ACL tear. This is not as detrimental as it used to be. Watkins, underperforming, nagging foot problems, but a ton of potential. Adams, least physically gifted. Plays with the best QB. Wasn't able to be a true #1 when Nelson went down. Sold player, might just be a #2.

I think it’s very very unlikely that Adams will get away from Green Bay (nor would he want to since he’s playing with a HOF QB).
We really don’t need a slot receiver like Landry and that’s easier to draft anyway. So that leaves the other two you mentioned and I prefer Robinson. I’ll take a guy who performed even with Blake Bortles throwing to him, even though he’s coming off an ACL tear, over a guy like Watkins who has a history of nagging injuries and still hasn’t “put it together”.

I would tend to agree on both counts. Especially Adams. It would not be at all like GB to allow their best WR to get away.
Since we don't know how a new coaching staff will scheme an offense it's harder to predict the others but I have to think Wright has shown enough to warrant being re-signed and the draft could bring backup slot help. Landry will command a high price and he may not become a UFA either.
With the ongoing expectation that White will never achieve starter status or even remain healthy enough to contribute I think we need more talent outside and that's where Robinson comes in. He needs to be well on the road to recovery and ready to practice come next June but if that's a go I'd take that route rather than to gamble on Watkins upside. The Bills let him go to LA and if LA doesn't think enough of him to keep him them IMHO he's suspect.
If we miss across the board then I have to think a rookie like Ridley is more probable but if we can keep Inman and Meredith and sign a UFA WR drafting another #1 becomes more questionable for now.
