We need to land two of - Adams, Watkins, Landry and Robinson. Im not sure if its even possible, but we NEED to land 2 of those guys, brake the bank
I’d be shocked if GB let Adams walk. And Adams would be stupid for not wanting to have Rodgers throwing to him. So.....I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
Is Pace going to keep Meredith? And Inman? Is he going to draft a WR (my plan would be in the 2nd)?
I can’t see him signing TWO free agent receivers unless the answer to the above questions is ”No”.
Ok, but as we know money does talk... and I would sign Inman only if other (better) options are off the table, or if hes gonna be a reserve guy

I would like to see Inman stay as long as he is not too expensive. Even if we have better options, we need depth that can still get separation and catch the ball

Of course, cos with our luck WR no.05 will be starting before week 3
1. Make a list of all the top FAs. 2. Scratch out the top 10 names Pace should be interested in. 3. Look for guys coming off injuries or who had one productive season about 2 years ago but not much since then. 4. Those are the guys Pace will sign.
Two I've listed are coming off significant injuries ergo the need to proceed cautiously to avoid another McPhee type deal.
I think we need to face the reality of Davante Adams never becoming a 2018 UFA. GB re-signs it's own above all else and as it stands Adams is their #1 WR. Unlike the Bears they aren't likely to just let him walk.
Landry is primarily a slot guy whereas our biggest need is at the X and Z positions so Watkins and Robinson are more likely targets. We might pry Watkins away from LA but he's another WR whose had multiple leg injuries that have stunted his production as well. Robinson is coming of an ACL tear. So flip a coin because I'm relatively certain we'll make a bid for one of them.

Meredith is an RFA so he'll be tendered and if Inman is willing to sign something like the two year deal Wheaton got with only one year guaranteed there's a good chance we'll be able to keep him as well. But both are #2 type guys for us. I'm gonna be looking at Watkins and Robinson as potential targets.

I don't know that we need 2 of them. We have Inman who is very good, and Meredith will be also coming back. I'd say without hesitation you need to get one bottom line. Getting two would be gravy.
I'm gonna start out by eliminating a couple of guys.
I don't believe there's any way GB let's Adams walk and I feel the same about Lawrence. Watkins is more iffy but now that Goff has come on strong I gotta think LA will try hard to keep him somehow.
One guy who interests me is Norwell. I feel we need another OG. Long's career is being impacted by injuries, Sitton while still very good is aging and 2018 will be the final year of his current deal, and Whitehair needs to be kept at OC and not be moved around like a chess piece. The OL interior lack quality depth.
I like Quenton Nelson in the draft but a top ten pick should be used on a pass rusher not an OG. Signing a guy like Norwell in his prime free Pace up to draft an edge guy in a year when FA may not has much to offer. If Norwell is truly as good as advertised he'd a guy Pace should make a strong play for to provide protection for Trubisky.
Due to his injury and lesser 2016 production Robinson could become a bargain find in FA but his torn ACL makes me a little leery. The last thing we need is one more injury problem at WR. But if he's 100% he's a guy who gives us a true replacement for AJ and along with Meredith and Inman I like the sound of a WR core of 6'3" receivers again. Getting a guy like Robinson means we can draft a WR in round two or later.
The two defensive guys on my list would be Johnson and Okafor but with an Achilles injury Okafor is another guy Pace would have to take a risk on which to me means he has to come cheap and maybe on a one year deal. Johnson is a guy I think we've had an interest in before but the Rams have always tagged him. If we plan on spending big on a CB Johnson is probably the guy and then we re-sign either Fuller or Amukamara.
I just looked up GB cap space and they have over 40M next year so Adams will never make it to FA
They also have to resign Aaron Rodgers...who do you think takes precedence?

Getting even 1 #1 WR is not easy. If actually got 2 of them and had these two as depth, it would be a pretty good group. Most teams though are lucky to have just one true #1 WR on the team.

And the other question I have on my mind is other than Adams are the others truly #1 WRs? Neither Watkins or Robinson have ever produced at that level with consistency. Few team will ever let a truly valuable WR go (except us.....twice) so we may not even be talking more than another Cam Meredith here.
Of course, that's so much better than where we are now it'll seem like it if we can even get one new WR in FA and then find another in the draft. My concern is more or less is Pace as bad at finding WRs as JA was?
