Shouldn't the fates of John Fox and Ryan Pace be interlocked

I agree.  Next season, all eyes will be on Ryan Pace though, to see where he takes this team from here.  At that point he will have had 4 years here.  A 5 to 8 win season at that point is not good.  In my book it will be a failure.  

I don't understand why we would accept that next year if it happens.  At some point we were supposed to get better than Lovie Smith (or for that matter the Wanny's, Jauron's, etc... going back 30 years or so).  Why would it be okay to be in last place in our division again, with a crappy record?  I don't get that.  Either the team is a winner.  Or it is a loser.  Pace is the guy managing this team.  He is the GM.  He either manages it to success, or failure.  Even "mediocre" is failure... heck, we had that under Lovie Smith.

Well...I can't really say an 8 win season would be a failure to me...I'd have to view it in totality. Again, most likely a new coaching staff...QB going into his second year...there's a lot going on...so if it's an 8 win season but the team is in every game it plays, and the schedule isn't a cake walk...is that really a failure? I can't see in any way how it would be. 

Again...it's unfair to compare Pace's tenure and record to those records as if they are all equal scenario's...they aren't. The record may not exactly show it, but I think this years team is much different than years prior. Hell, with this schedule under tresty in his last year the bears would go 0-16 and set a record for points given up. I expect next year to be better however, and the year after that to be even better.
