I think that is the biggest take away here. Barth really wasn't a terrible FG kicker when he came here, at least stat wise. Gould was able to revive his career when the Bears did him the favor of cutting him. Lets wait to see what this guy can do in chicago's SF wind.
Hopefully his injury is no longer a factor. What made Fox get rid of Gould for Barth, I will never know.
Gould couldn't kick it into the endzone anymore, could never onside kick, was missing FG's and XP's. He was right to get rid of Gould, he just shouldn't have brought in his buddy buddy Barf
Exactly. People pinning away for Robbie have forgotten that his accuracy was slipping, his distance on KOs sucked, and he was vastly overpaid.

I get what you are saying, but he is doing well right now. And if you have a guy that can single handidly win 2 or three games for you, that is a valuable person. Was he overpaid? Probably. But that is subjective. I do know we won a lot of games with him and lost a lot of games with Barf. That has to be worth some extra money. How much extra is up for debate.

I think he is doing well now b/c he is out of the winds of SF, I doubt he would have jumped back into it if he had stayed in Chicago and had to deal w/the winds here, his leg just isn't there anymore.

There is only one way to say that with certainty and that is to have had him stay here. So any opinions on both our parts are just that... opinions.
All I know is he is doing better than Barth and I would rather he have stayed. Better yet, I wish we had signed a stud kicker UFDA

Bull shit Ric. He has his worst year at TB right BEFORE we signed him at Fox's request. He had an even worse year than Gould and even his career record couldn't match Robbie's. NOLA let him go twice before we signed him. He may have been effective from 39 yards and less but over 40 yards he has horrible accuracy just as we saw on Sunday.
The only thing we gained by releasing Robbie was cap space and it's cost us some games. Was that a good trade off? Not to me.

Out of the winds? Are you crazy? It's as windy there as it is in Chicago. Stop defending Barth and imagining somehow that something is that isn't.
Aw ****.....why am I even wasting my time with this again. Here.....you're right. You're ALWAYS right....at least in your own mind.

lol are you serious? You cannot be serious. It is not as windy in San Fran as it is in Chicago. Just do a google search of bad winds in Levi Stadium, nothing. Bad winds in Soldier field....ya take a guess.

Facts Soul Robbie's last 3 years in Chicago: 89, 74, 84
Barth, 84, 92, 82. Not I did not state he was better then Gould, I said he had had years better then Goulds last years in Chicago, which is true. Add in xps? 97 96 96 for Gould, Barth, 100 100 96. He did not have his worst year in TB before signing w/Fox either, his worst year was in 2009.
Gould was trash his last 3 years in Chicago, while Barf didn't work out, that doesn't mean letting Gould go was wrong. It was very much the correct move.
