Actually no but then I've never been a huge John Wayne buff so I probably haven't seen that movie in nearly 50 years. Kovac's was a cutting edge comedy genius though. That I do recall.

Well once I found out his real name was Marion and he was from Iowa and not Texas that just sorted popped my childhood heroes balloon ya' know.

I mean it was like if I found out that Neil Young was really Barry Manilow in disguise!

Like when I found out that PeeWee Herman was Hispanic and had a criminal record. I've never fully recovered.
