Loki, welcome to the board.  Thanks for all of your hard work on the dabears.com board over the years.  I'm hoping The Benjamin makes it here too.  He seemed like a good guy.

I saw your comment in the shoutbox about posting the link to this board on the facebook dabears.com account.  Thanks for doing that.  While we're not looking to have big numbers here, there are still a few posters I am hoping find their way to this board and we have no way of letting them know where we are.  LOL, it's like they're kind of lost in Internet space.  

Anyway, I appreciate what you all did for us on the dabears board - including Ski.  I have zero hard feelings towards getting my account deleted.  I understand the frustration.  

I saw your comment in the shoutbox about poaching posters.  FWIW, we did let our favorite folks on dabears know about this place.  Almost everyone here posted both boards.  We just didn't know how to let our friends over there know about this board.  So we did PM them.  In fact the only way I found out about this place was a PM that I received.  I was thankful I got it.

It really doesn't matter whether it's a business you're running or an internet forum it can't be done very effectively if you try to do it in absentia.  Rick has adequately explained his reasoning but for many of us that simply didn't work.  Added to that is Rick's allegiance is no longer to the Bears which IMHO makes a difference.

We wanted a return to what we once had there and to the best of our abilities to provide it that is exactly what the staff here will do.  We've set the rules of conduct among ourselves without the need for writing up more formal TOS or the need for the old "ignore button" and so far, thanks to all of you, it's working quite well.

As expected more former DBS members will probably be joining us and all we ask is that those of you now coming on board honor those rules in the same fashion the rest have to date.  As long as we all walk that path we will continue to have a site that operates in the way we all prefer it to and no one will have a need to deal with some of the nonsense that eventually became so prevalent at DBS during this past year.

Nice to see you finally arrived LB.  We've been expecting you.
