I'll throw my "prediction" here so I can look back at it later.
So we stand 3-4 at the moment with a hot Saints team up next, being winners of 4 straight. I wanted to say W, but the more I think the more I know L
Week 8 @nola (L) 3-5
-
Not sure how much Inman will play vs the Saints or how much his impact will be, but the bye week will be appreciated by everyone. The D can rest and the O can regroup.
Week 9 bye
-
Next up is not [Brett] Frave and the Green Bay Packers. I like to think this is redemption. McCarthy looks to have his team battling, but Fangio rattles Hundley and Aarons Jones is contained. The offense looks closer to balanced by passing the ball maybe almost 20 times and win the game with an efficient run game and dominant D.
Week 10 vGB (W) 4-5
-
The Lions are back on track after a date with Browns and the Bears are hungover from the high of beating GB. This has letdown written all over it.
Week 11 vDET (L) 4-6
-
Carson. Wentz. MVP.
Week 12 @phi (L) 4-7
-
Two teams are coming in feeling defeated after SF falls to the Seahawks. This one will be closer than we want to see and frustrates us. Hopefully I'm wrong, but right by calling this a W. Maybe this is the game Mitchell breaks out, fingers crossed.
Week 13 vSF (W) 5-7
-
Bengals will be coming in with a similar record, this will be the season Lewis gets the boot, but his presence will be the difference in another close game.
Week 14 @cin (L) 5-8
-
We have to split this series with Detroit, right?
Week 15 @det (W) 6-8
-
We can't lose to these paperbags, can we?
Week 16 vCLV (W) 7-8
-
I'm predicting the Lions and Vikings are indirectly playing each other for the division. With everything on the line the Vikings show up.
Week 17 @min (L) 7-9

So I'll guess Chicago end up somewhere near the 10th pick.
Maybe the biggest problem with adding just one or two more wins is that we end up back in the same spot we were two years ago when Pace found himself having to trade up in order to get Floyd. If an edge rusher is at the top of his board again he may have the same problem but less ammo to make a trade with since we're already out our 3rd.
Harold Landry and Arden Key are currently the two top ten ranked edge guys and to date both are mocked to go within the first seven picks. But it's far too early to say whether or not this will hold or even if another edge guy might shoot up in the rankings. One thing that does seem less likely though is that any WRs will rank this high.
Two other possibilities who rank around the #10 spot are Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick and Notre Dame OG Quinton Nelson.
