Ah yes but that could all change after Thursday night. Cincy nearly beat them so I suppose we have a shot as well but I'm not seeing any corners turned until we start stringing several good games together. So far the TB game was the like meat in a shit sandwich.
You mean it was the shit in a meat sandwhich? I'm confused...people were optimistic after atlanta...then tampa bay happened...then we beat pitt....
I don't know about "people" but I wasn't optimistic. I was pissed about a winnable game being thrown away by a useless QB. I called that game as "Peak Glennon" and stick by that. I've been right. He's sucked worse since and he's not gonna suddenly be "good". He sucks and even his least sucky games still suck.
An away game on a short week is a tough ask I agree but Green Bay is currently down 3 tackles and their defense looks leaky. Decent QB play would give us a fighting chance but instead we are stuck with Glennon--Which requires 200+ yards rushing and several major mistakes by the opponent to win....in overtime.
Me too, sounds like a plan. Unfortunately, I think Glennon is not as good as I hoped
He's ceiling is definitely looking to be moderate bridge qb. This is a guy that clearly needs a complete team around him to even look competent. But I'm not willing to risk the long term(10-15 years) of Trubs b/c of the short term issues that are Glennon.
How are those two things dependent on one another again?
Dak Wilson Mariotta Winston Wentz all say otherwise.
Either he's gonna be good and will overcome rookie growing pains or he isn't and won't. I've seen no compelling evidence to indicate that sitting him behind a garbage "placeholder" changes the eventual outcome whatsoever.

All those players started on teams with far better offenses then the shit shownthat is the bears o. Bears have a couple special interior ols and a couple special rbs. And no special wrs or tes.

Looked like to me brother. Atlanta and Pitt where nice Wonder Bread white bread offensive efforts but whatever was between them in Tampa Bay wasn't the chicken salad we ordered so what do you think it was? It looked pretty foul to me and I do mean F O U L not fowl. LOL
I don't know...I don't like chicken salad...so to me Tampa was chicken salad! LOL...but yeah I get your point...I was just breaking balls.

Dak -- One of the best o-lines in the league, very good running game, one of the best receivers in the game and a hall of fame tight end. Wilson -- Marshawn Lynch, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice, Zach Miller, Jermaine Kearse Mariotta -- Started 12 games, was sacked 38 times, threw for under 3000 yards 19 td's and 10 int's, and fumbled 10 times and went 3-9. He was a little better the next year. He probably could have benefitted from some more time. Winston -- Doug Martin(who ran for over 1400 yards Winstons rookie year), Mike Evans, Vincent Jackson, Cameron Brate, Charles Simms, and a pretty good o-line. Wentz -- 16 td's to 14 int's his rookie year. Darren Sproles, Ryan Matthews, Zach Ertz, Jordan Matthews, and Brent Celek.
Those guys all, aside from Mariota, had some legit offensive talent surrounding them their rookie years. Yes, we have a pretty good o-line, and two good running backs, and a decent tight end...but this receiving corp is god awful right now. Could he come in and do well? Absolutely...but I'd like to give him the chance to have as much success as early as possible...and I think that comes after the bye.

I don't disagree with your assessment...but technically that game was "dropped" away....twice.

First of all I'm not gonna simply assume that any Bears QB will have a 10-15 year career here when the last one who lasted for 10 years or more was Sid Luckman. That's quite optimistic on Ric's part and year one is already being burned off by making Trubisky a "forward observer" as opposed to a combatant.
Aside from Rams and Jared Goff we are the only other team in the last few years to have drafted a QB this high and not played him as a rookie. None of the teams who drafted these guys was in any better shape than the Bears are now so the "plan" seems to be both full of holes and full of excuses and little more.
One thing does stand out to me though and that is it looks like Pace is trying to avoid embarrassment by playing Glennon simply because of what he's paying Glennon. This is already rated as the worst offseason deal anyone made so I don't believe there's much salvageable now including draft picks next spring.
This is looking more and more like another Osweiler deal and the Bears will have to eat 2018 money unless Glennon's deal has an offset clause and gets signed elsewhere. I believe that once again we'll have a QB we can't get anything for in trade especially if Trubisky replaces him soon.

Nonsense. That may be your opinion but it's not a fact.

I know. If you like we could take out the Chicken Salad and sub PB or Vegemite or whatever other brown gooey substance more closely resembles crap.
