The Bears were only in the game because of Pittsburgh's play in defence and their multiple errors.
Chicago did ok, but on any normal Sunday where a team doesn't make the mistakes the Steelers made and normally the opponent would stack the box to block the run. Chicago wouldn't have been in the game. The RBs were excellent in their game management, but clearly even the coach has no faith in Glennon because he barely asked him to do anything but give it to the team's strength and let them do something.
I don't want to put a negative on any win, because I'm happy the team showed some fight and showed that they want to win, but if anything I think yesterday showed how much more we need as a team. WRs who can't catch when Glennon does throw the ball, A QB who isn't trusted to lead the team. I'm disappointed we aren't utilising our TEs more, who were a strength coming into the season. 14 receptions in 3 games. Lastly run the ball into the endzone, hopefully he won't do that again!
But like I said, I am happy we won and today I won't write another negative piece, I will just wait for Thursday to watch the Bears again.
I disagree. If Barf kicks it in and Cooper makes one more step - its a blowout. We let Steelers back in, they should be happy they got even to OT.
But because of our own errors we did keep them in the game right 'til the end. On a better day Ben scores a TD after than pick Glennon threw and we lose a game we should have been skating away with by halftime. This has been this teams problem all along. Even when we win we eek out a victory in a game when we should have won much sooner than we did.
If Barth nails that FG and Cooper isn't such a bonehead were up 24-14 and Pitt needs two scores to tie it not just a FG. Take away that 7 points and it's still anyone's game. That's the kind of stuff we need to stop doing.
Timu had a solid game yesterday and good on him. The OL was surprisingly good considering how many times guys got shuffled around.
It was interesting, the post game talked about how Timu was in on run downs and Jones in on pass downs and both had good days; good for both of them, it's not easy being a ILB against Bell, if you lose your containment he's going to burn you bad.
The OL did really well all things considered. But you could tell they were starting to struggle w/all the injuries. Sitton cannot get back soon enough. Long seems to make such a huge difference when he's in the game at OG, he's still a beast to deal with, and I think you saw the improved running game of Howard b/c of it.
When Sitton does return I'm not so sure it shouldn't be at LG and leave Long at RG. He still trying to get his game back so why add to his burden by having him swap sides when we did fine with Sitton at LG last year.
Ah yes but that could all change after Thursday night. Cincy nearly beat them so I suppose we have a shot as well but I'm not seeing any corners turned until we start stringing several good games together. So far the TB game was the like meat in a shit sandwich.
You mean it was the shit in a meat sandwhich? I'm confused...people were optimistic after atlanta...then tampa bay happened...then we beat pitt....

My mind will forever go to this episode when "shit sandwich" in mentioned...

Hands down, the best show!!!!! I am currently watching right now. The episode where Frank retires......Awesome!!!!
Me too, sounds like a plan. Unfortunately, I think Glennon is not as good as I hoped
He's ceiling is definitely looking to be moderate bridge qb. This is a guy that clearly needs a complete team around him to even look competent. But I'm not willing to risk the long term(10-15 years) of Trubs b/c of the short term issues that are Glennon.
I'm agreeing with you Ric, but man the nanosecond Trubisky is ready, get that guy in there :-)

Looked like to me brother. Atlanta and Pitt where nice Wonder Bread white bread offensive efforts but whatever was between them in Tampa Bay wasn't the chicken salad we ordered so what do you think it was? It looked pretty foul to me and I do mean F O U L not fowl. LOL

I love Danny DaVito but that particular show was just a bit too off the wall even for me. Despite that I still hold to my feelings that so far this season has been a shit sandwich. The Pitt and Atlanta games have looked appetizing enough for us to bite on the progress thing but in the middle is a game where we totally shit the bed.
Now, Thursday may or may not tell us what the rest of this season will look like. If we have at least begun to turn a corner we play GB tight and have a shot at winning. Or.......we see one more shit sandwich game and the pattern continues. On the bright side of things at least we won't have to wait 'til Sunday for an answer.
