Man, 18 out of 26 for 176 yards 1 TD and 2 INT are some awesome numbers for a rookie QB against a top 5 defense.
That is really impressive. I don't care how good Denver's offense is.
What impressed me more than the numbers was just watching his cool demeanor under pressure, and he does have a beautiful fluid passing motion - with some real power too. Some things you can't teach or coach with a QB. You either "have it" or you don't. This guy has all the raw attributes you like to see in a young QB. I'm sure he'll have his rough games this year, but overall this is a guy who has a bright future in the NFL.
It was just one game, but if he keeps it up Denver will have one hell of a trade. I don't think they can pay 2 qbs starter money. Paxton Lynch is their future.

I understand Mike, and that is where the smart money is. I didn't watch much Bronco pre-season action, but it's my understanding that Lynch looked pretty damn good when he played. That said, if this kid DOES have an "amazing freakin year" as I suggested above, it's not going to matter where either was drafted or what their names are, he will be the guy. Please don't get me wrong, I AM NOT projecting greatness on this kid after one damn game, I just professed my HOPE that would happen. Will it? Probably not, but he did look pretty good. He wouldn't be the first late round pick to become a stud. If he rocks his season, they are not going to sit him down just because Lynch is a first round pick. That has value as well that they would like to tap in to if they didn't need him.
He suffered a Jimmy Garoppolo injury today . Luckily it's not his throwing shoulder , but he will be out a while , and if Lynch performs well , his starting career might be over before it started .
