Admit it gang. That's on bitch of a start. Depending on how the offense measures up I see maybe one win each in Sept. and Oct. for a 2-6 going into the bye week. Right now I see maybe 3 wins in the second half for a 5-11 overall.
I realize it's early and I'm not actually predicting anything simply looking at the schedule and making an educated guess. The defense should be able to keep us close but the QB who was actually one of the best in the NFL at 4th Q wins plays for Miami now.

+1 And to be honest, I wouldn't like to see Trubisky starting those first 4 games. Hopefully the OL can protect Glennon so he doesn't get injured. And if he does get injured, trot Sanchez out there. Regarding the OL, I'm wondering how Long will do initially. With the ankle surgery that didn't go so well, and the shoulder he opted to not have surgery on - I wonder what kind of shape he is in for these first games. Leno didn't look so hot this first game. Whitehair seems to be having some problems (sophomore slump?), I don't know what we will have in pass blocking. Maybe it will be okay. Maybe not. Throw Glennon out there as a kind of "crash dummy" and keep Trubisky on his learning curve journey.

If they don't go to an open competition during preseason my guess is the first 8 games will be all Glennon. Pace promised him his shot and no matter what I think he'll give it to him at least up to that point. After the bye who can say?
I'm not too God awfully worried about the OL getting in sync just yet. Leno had a bad game but he knows what stands between him a very nice payday somewhere in 2018 is a season of consistent improvement. If he does Pace may extend him if the price is right and if he doesn't he's still looking at getting offers elsewhere. How much they'll be for depends a lot on how well he plays this year.
Long is a warrior. He'll be there when the bell rings if not before.

Yep, this year's schedule is brutal.
I'm still predicting a 6-10 record, however, if we're totally honest here, we could also easily go 0-11 and celebrate our first win in week 13.
Atl - went to the SB and still a very hot team @tb - has one of the best offenses in the NFC (at least on paper) PIT - Big Ben & a tough D @gb - nuff said MIN - strong D, smart HC @bal - always tough team to beat on the road, decent roster even w/o Flacco CAR - Rivera fighting for his job, Cam will probably have to step up this year, rookie RB could win ROY @no - Brees, Payton , strong running game GB - again, nuff said DET - we shouldn't underestimate this team, could be better than most think @phi - tough crowd, fighting to win their division
