Admit it gang. That's on bitch of a start. Depending on how the offense measures up I see maybe one win each in Sept. and Oct. for a 2-6 going into the bye week. Right now I see maybe 3 wins in the second half for a 5-11 overall.
I realize it's early and I'm not actually predicting anything simply looking at the schedule and making an educated guess. The defense should be able to keep us close but the QB who was actually one of the best in the NFL at 4th Q wins plays for Miami now.
This evening I went through the rest of the schedule. I think you may be right. I can see 3 to 5 wins because we have some really bad teams we get to play later this season. I can't see us (even as bad as we are) winning fewer than 3 games. Our ceiling is probably 5 games.

You mean really bad like us don't you? Face it brother D we suck the big one and if we keep getting hurt it's gonna be 2016 all over again. Fox's next man up has yet to work so there's no reason it will this time either. There's a far better chance that before the bye week this team will have folded it's tent on him.
OK, 3-5 through a pretty tough first 8 games. Then a bye to help reset the offense.....we hope.
As I posted elsewhere IMHO these next two games are a nexus. We either win both at home and head for Philly at 5-5 with some confidence or we lose one or both end either end up back on the skids or no better off than we were before them.

It is crazy now when you look at the schedule, asides from the Eagles. We could win them all... I mean if we had a kicker, a few WR, a HC who allows him QB to throw...Besides all that, we could squeak into a wild card spot.
The upcoming games have got me excited! Even the Eagles should be a good show.

I feel the same way. We should know a lot about this team after tomorrow's game with Green Bay. If we take care of business and win, and look good doing it, I figure we may be pleasantly surprised by the last half of this season. But if we lose, then I figure it's just going to be like the first half of the season. Not so good.

Nope. Bottom feeders again, cheers!
It was a sad outcome yesterday for sure. I was hoping we would turn a corner. We didn't. I just hope Pace can get it right with the next coaching staff. We will see.

Wish I could disagree but I can't. Every time over the last few seasons when there's a opportunity to demonstrate "turning a corner" this team has crapped the bed with a lackluster performance. This game was perhaps the most egregious and unforgivable one of them all. They were playing a team reeling from injuries, on a short week, coming off a bye, at home, favored to win, and in ideal weather conditions to play to the Bears strengths.
And they utterly cocked it up yet again.
The O couldn't do the one thing they supposedly are good at---run the ball effectively. The D failed to get a takeaway and made a crappy backup QB and a 3rd string no-name RB look good. The coaches didn't have the team prepared or sharp at all despite ample time and every advantage and jacked up a key strategic play.
It's just playing out the string now. There's nothing left to see but to get Trub some more experience and decide if Inman is worth keep around. Beyond that, its time for Pace to get his shit together big time because he needs a whole new coaching staff, 2 WRs, 1-2 OLBs, and a prayer rug starting in just 2 months. We are headed for our 4th straight last place finish in the division and his seat should be starting to feel warm.

The team looked so disorganized, lacking basic discipline and not ready to play. I understand injuries and talent issues, but there is a coaching problem too. I have dreaded the thought of having to go through yet another coaching change. I so wanted Fox to succeed here (I was really pleased when the Bears signed him). But it is time to try the head coach thing all over again. It makes me sick, because it's not an easy fix. There's no guarantee the next guy will be any better. But ya gotta give it a go. No sane person would ever become a Bears fan. Bunch of masochists if you ask me :-)
