Sorry Alex but if you feel Trubisky is a BPA pick over Thomas or Adams then you my good friend are as bat shit crazy as you said Pace was. If most everyone agreed with how you're portraying this I doubt most would be questioning it's wisdom.I'm sticking with my own analysis. John Lynch smoked Pace on this one. We don't know how it all played out over the telephone so I'm just gonna go with the results. We gave up three mid round picks to select a relatively inexperienced QB who at least some believe was not even the best QB prospect in this draft while Lynch not only collected them but still got the guy he wanted all along and the guy I feel we'd have been better off drafting and kept those picks.
JMHO
But that said I still feel we jumped too early for a top QB pick and paid a heavy price for it. I could be wrong but today it doesn't feel that way and today is all we have to go on so far. I outlined my thinking in the "Pros and Con's thread and I'll let that stand. It's as complete a read on it as I can give right now.
Let me also say that among all of the members here JJ and I tend to be the most critical of Pace at times and of the Bears organization in general. Maybe we're both wrong. I have only my years of experience observing the Bears under McCaskey ownership to go by so while it's an amateurs viewpoint I might add that I'm a very observant kind of guy. But JJ played the game. In fact he's the only one of us on this site who has. I think his insight counts for more than most and it might heed more member to at least listen to him rather than me.
Just sayin ya' know. And with that I'm outta here 'til this whole draft has concluded. I had Pace figured to trade down in round one but it now looks like he'll have to be doing that in round two if he hopes to recover some picks. It just as important to me to see how he finishes this off as how he started it. Then I'll have a more complete commentary on it.
