Here's my problem; I want to be an optimist, I want to be happy about what the Bears do and I tend to be a glass half full kinda guy. I want to feel good about the guys because I want to have at least some modicum of respect for the individuals that wear the uniform of the team I cheer for.
The reality is, I give very little respect for the very nice parting thoughts that AJ posted and I give very little respect for the comments posted by Cooper here. I believe it is a nice thing in each case, but because of the ease of posting/publicizing such things these days via social media, it takes very little effort to do; VERY little. So little, in fact, that the sentiment is essentially meaningless. Just as Belly suggests, it may have even been drafted by his agent which then simply means it didn't even mean enough for him to take the very little time it takes to put the sentiments in your own words.
Don't get me wrong, its a nicer gesture than saying nothing at all; I'm certainly not going to SLAM anyone for it, but it holds very little meaning to me.
