My only point is that here we have a new guy come to the team and he reaches out to us fans with a positive letter. Just a young kid trying to do a right thing here. We then act like a bunch of assholes and start ranting about how he was "only" an alternate on the 2017 Pro Bowl (how dare he, right?), and how his agent probably wrote the letter and he only signed it. And then the rant goes all the way to bringing in Pace for not doing better this free agency, and then it gets to bringing up past Bears franchise failings.
LOL at us. Bunch of stinking lunatics here.
It's like that old saying "Let no good deed go unpunished" for this kid coming to our team wanting to be good to us fans, and excited to be a Chicago Bear. In fact, all of these new players seem pumped to be a Chicago Bear now - especially our new quarterback. Yet, before these guys play a single down of football for OUR team, we are acting like they pissed in our corn flakes this morning.
I guess I'm just wired different. If the Chicago Bears get folks this angry and worked up and negative, (seriously) you should consider not following the team if it just gets you upset like this. Life is too short to allow yourself to get this upset of any sport. It's supposed to be fun, and FWIW I am enjoying watching the team getting rebuilt piece-by-piece like this. The drafts have been solid under Pace, so I am also looking forward to this next draft in a few weeks. I'm pumped right now.
First, not sure about the alternate stuff or why that is pertinent. I know that wasn't me. As far as his agent writing that.... yes, I do believe his agent wrote that. Do I think that means the kid is not pumped about being here? No. Not sure why you let this stuff get to you personally or why you think I don't like his gesture. I assume you think I don't or I would not be who you responded to. Do I think Pace did well in FA? No, I don't. Again, not sure why that is a bid deal. It's what I think and this stuff is fluid. Some guys in FA you are pumped about and they do nothing. Some guys you don't like and they become huge contributors. So no, I don't like what I see in FA in terms of what MY expectations were, but that does not mean I will feel this way in a year. How these guys perform is going to make a huge difference in EVERYONES perception of how FA went.
I really don;t get a lot of what I am seeing here. Some people being so down on the team and being upset that others are not down. Others being so high on what happened and being upset that others are not up. When did we stop allowing people to have their own perceptions and accepting them without attacking anything that does not conform to our own perceptions?
This is not directed at you. I just don't understand how a thread posting a nice letter by a new Chicago Bears player gets people upset like this. I think we've lost our minds. Really.
