He's the only plausible outside corner we have right now unless you assume Porter will discover the fountain of youth and/or Fuller stays healthy and learns to play man.
Well now that the Bear aren't looking to resign AJ. Where do you want to spend the money.
I am getting a big laugh out of how it seems like all I read on here is about how the Bears need to sign this Defensive player or that defensive player, except maybe QB or draft this defensive player and yes we need them. But the Bears need two WR because White hasn't made the field, TE Miller isn't the answer, O line the Tackles are good put we could improve on what the Bears have. And what about the QB position, I maybe one of the few on that will be happy if the Bears sign the 3 FA QB that were in the roster last year.
well, it does look like Pace is trying to resign AJ

Ya saw they had a positive meeting w/AJ; AJ is finding out that the market for him is softer then he assumed, so Pace gambled and won, and now they are apparently back at the table.

I want AJ back! Just ordered his jersey for my kid, so its a sign of good faith

^^^^^ that does seem to be the case. AJ might have discovered that missing a bunch of games last 2 seasons and not exactly putting up impressive numbers has caused that pot of gold he was counting on to not be quite as big as he had hoped.
OK as an alternative to Gilmore, how about this scenario:
1. AJ Bouye to a 5/50M with 30M guaranteed. He gets a 10M AAV and more gurantted but is quite young but coming off a breakout albeit not ballhawkish season. 2. Tony Jefferson gets 5?40M with 23M guaranteed. He is also not a ballhawk but is quite a good FS. Maybe under Fangio's scheme his ints pick up.

I want AJ and the Bears to work out a deal that is good for both. I didn't here the two were meeting, just don't have energy to keep up with all the Bears news
Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is one of the most coveted free agents, but by the time everyone goes to bed Thursday night, he could sign a deal that will keep “Bears wide receiver” in front of his name for several more years.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bears had a “positive meeting” with Jeffery’s agent Saturday.
Jeffery figures to have a lot of suitors despite a history of hamstring and knee injuries and subpar 2015 and 2016 seasons (54 catches in ’15 and 52 in ’16). He’s expressed a desire to go to a contender. The Bears were 3-13 last season and it’s anyone’s guess who their quarterback will be, but Jeffery could grin and bear those issues if the Bears throw enough money his way.
