From what I've read, Hall was a legit mid-round WR talent who shockingly fell completely out of the draft due to a hernia (which I believe he's since had repaired). Unless he gets the injury-redshirt somehow, I doubt the Bears are gonna be able to get him through to the PS as he's gonna get picked up by someone.
You bring up a good point in that the Bears have players now that I worry about trying to sneak onto this year's practice squad. That is a good problem to have though. In particular I was thinking about our 7th round draft pick, CB Stephen Denmark who would obviously benefit from being on the PS - but he'd get poached I think if we tried to move him there. The guy was the 238th guy picked in the draft (LOL, close to being Mr Irrelevant) yet he clearly has a ton of raw undeveloped talent (the guy looks like he could be scary-good if developed properly).
Yeah it will be interesting to see how these guys show in the preseason.
Ridley would never make it through to the PS. Besides, 4th round rookies rarely get cut unless there's a major off-field issue. EHall has mid-draft-worthy talent so, if healthy, I think he would be claimed too. Wims probably could slip through as he's barely played and was a 7th round pick. If he shows well in August that could change.
Maybe I'm crazy but I think Denmark is a good candidate to mold into a SS.

I don't think you're crazy at all regarding Denmark.
You guys got my favorite UDFA, WR Emanuel Hall. Here's my notes on him:
#7: Emanuel Hall, Missouri
Summary
Emanuel Hall matched Parris Campbell's ridiculous pSparq rating with an astonishing 99.7 percentile rating. Hall is two inches taller than Campbell, so he's got the build of a 1st round pick. However, Hall dealt with injuries and only caught 37 passes, but for an eye-popping 828 yards (22.4 yards a catch!). Hall runs smooth routes and blew by ill-prepared DBs. His catching ability was borderline, with a shaky 9.8% catch rate. That will need to improve at the NFL level. Hall has the ability to devastate a defense with his speed and deep catch ability, and he's a true boom-or-bust pick with the upside to be a #1 WR.
The Bears WRs group is a bit crowded, but I really like Hall's chances of breaking out as a starter at some point. I wish the Vikings would have taken him with a late round pick, as we could use this guy a lot more than the Bears could (we have nothing behind Thielen and Diggs).

If Denmark makes it in the NFL, he might end up being a hybrid kind of DB who plays a combination of both CB and FS/SS. Looking at the small amount of video on the kid you see decent pur pass coverage, press coverage, blitzing and really solid run support.

Since Baylor is my home town college football team I always watch 2 or 3 Bear games a year. We signed Blake Blackmar (Baylor's starting RG) as a FA after the draft and I'd like to post a couple of Baylor games from last year. My opinion about Blackman is he is definitely a project and the NFL level and if he is lucky he will make the PS. He needs work on technique but has the raw physical ability to play OG at the pro level.
Blackmar is #72.
Baylor v. WVU - WVU opens a can of whoop ass on Baylor. Tough to watch (at least for a Baylor fan) but you can see Blackmar in a game where the defense is uncorking everything they can and IMO he actually plays pretty well.
Baylor v. Texas - A much better game. Again Blackman seems to play pretty well.
My feeling about Blackman is he is pretty raw and will need a lot of work if he is to make the team. Hopefully he puts in a lot of work and makes the PS. But at 6'5" and 325 he has the physical characteristics.
