Maybe not classically a "lesser program" but Mizzou is not a leading program. I am reading some analysts on twitter that this kid could be career trouble for Taylor Gabriel. Hey, you wanted an irrational crush, how about one starting from an irrational premise?
Great! So we can cut Robinson and Gabriel next year, 18mil of cap space will come in handy!
The Ridley and Hall (perhaps Wims too) additions are clearly hedges against cap casualties next year. I think we will end up keeping ARob who's still very young, was coming off ACL last season, and appears to be becoming Trub's security blanket guy. Gabriel OTOH is probably a goner to save $$.
Looking at this year we have: A Robinson A Miller T Gabriel C Patterson J Wims R Ridley Marvin Hall Emmanuel Hall
We shall see.. It seems that Pace learned his lesson from the Parkey fiasco.
I suspect we might see more K/P in the NFL since the NFL might reduce the role of the kicking game.
At this point he just wants to get it right. I heard that rumors are that people inside HH felt Parkey had "made it" and wasn't putting the effort into the job; sounds a lot like why Gould ended up getting cut; he was struggling making a ton of $$$ and not making friends in HH also. Maybe he's just learned you generally want young hungry kickers instead of stupid drunk kicker
I've read stuff like that too. And it seems validated when we found out Parkey was resisting practicing at SF cuz the "commute was too long".

2 of those can't make the final 53
Uhm.... didn't you forget someone?
Tanner Gentry anyone?
LOL, I hope Tanner has signed any long-term leases cuz he's gonna be moving soon

According to Patrick Finley of the Sun-Times, former Arkansas QB Austin Allen has been invited to our upcoming rookie camp. IMO he is a camp body at best.
Emanuel Hall, (6’2”, 201), WR, Missouri (link) Another speedster with a 4.39 40
Keep an eye on him. I saw a tweet saying that when the Bears were up and ended up drafting Riley this was the guy he wanted.
From what I've read, Hall was a legit mid-round WR talent who shockingly fell completely out of the draft due to a hernia (which I believe he's since had repaired). Unless he gets the injury-redshirt somehow, I doubt the Bears are gonna be able to get him through to the PS as he's gonna get picked up by someone.
You bring up a good point in that the Bears have players now that I worry about trying to sneak onto this year's practice squad. That is a good problem to have though. In particular I was thinking about our 7th round draft pick, CB Stephen Denmark who would obviously benefit from being on the PS - but he'd get poached I think if we tried to move him there. The guy was the 238th guy picked in the draft (LOL, close to being Mr Irrelevant) yet he clearly has a ton of raw undeveloped talent (the guy looks like he could be scary-good if developed properly).
I really hope they keep only 2 QBs, yep. Think there will be 4 RBs and prob 4 TEs too. WR will be minimum 6 and possibly even 7.
So 53 man roster. K/P/LS take 3 of those slots, putting us at 50.
Assuming 50/50 OFF/DEF for sale of keeping it simple.
2 QB 4 RB 7 WR 4 TE 8 OL
That looks about right. I stand corrected.
No need for correction--I'm just guessing.
Carrying a 3rd QB on the 53 is a waste IMO unless he's a draft pick you're protecting. Bray isn't and isn't likely to be signed away anyhow. The Bears have what appears to be surplus talent at WR (imagine that!) so they may keep as many as 7 with 6 being bare minimum. It's possible they only keep 3 TEs and 9 OLs.
