He needs to kick high enough. There is no reason to defend Parkey. He sucks and he cost us the bye and now the season. He missed 10? kicks this year, that is unacceptable. He should have been cut after the Miami or Detroit game. Embarrassing.
If you watch the live speed it shows no impact and the way he would have deflected it, he would have missed anyway.
A ball getting tipped always changes the way it moves, if it moves 1/2 inch one direction it changes if the ball goes in.
Of course O-Donnall and his 36 yard punt isn't getting mentioned at all. 36 yards and that's with no return. Boom that down field!!
But saying the DEF only gave up 16 points and its Parkey's fault makes us sound like fans who only watched the last play of the game. Go watch that last TD by the Eagles. Its painful.
Eagles have 3 receivers to the right of Foles. I think a TE on LOS on the right. Foles is in shotgun with a RB to his right. Everything is screaming right, but knowing Peterson misdirection is almost certain, so you can't ignore the TE or the RB leaking out to the left. Ball is snapped and the Bears rush 7 initially. 7! Even though on a 3rd and long a few plays earlier they rushed 3. Everyone is in single coverage, man to man. Poor McMannis is up against Tate and has no chance. With Foles sprinting to the right, Tate runs right at McMannis who doesn't move and is flat footed as Tate plants and cuts right. Pitch and Catch. Easiest game winning TD Foles will ever throw.
Foles comes out after the game and said the Bears tend to bring pressure in that situation, so they moved the pocket to the side with the WRs and game over.
The DEF choked on that drive and I had no faith once the Eagles started moving that the DEF would get a stop, None. Doesn't mean the Eagles didn't have a great drive. Count the missed tackles and broken coverages on that drive. The number 1 DEF in the league, the Monsters of the Midway blew it. Make a stop. Eagles only had to convert 1 3rd down on that drive. 1. How many guys missed the rookie TE and let him get a first down? Where were Mack, Floyd, Trevation, Amos, Fuller, Floyd, Hicks, etc on that last drive? Not one single guy made a play.
Is the DEF totally at fault for the loss? No, Parkey missed the kick. But....(and everyone has one) I'll say it again, if the number 1 DEF simply played up to its level on that last drive......
