"The D didn't play its best game, no question. But...they held Philly to 16 points, about 300 yards, and took the ball away twice. Note that that's LESS points allowed than their league-leading average in the regular season."

The loss is on the lack of scoring. Nagy's conservative play calling in the 1st half sucked. Trub missed a few throws and some opportunities to scramble for yards. Cohen did nothing. Burton was missed. Miller fumbled away a big gain. The Bears had big chances in the late 1st half and the 1st possession of the 2nd to pad their lead to two scores and failed to put points on the board.
Still, despite all that, the O did just enough to still win. Parkey had a mid-range 42 yard FG try in ideal conditions, with a good snap, a good hold, and adequate blocking and he choked. Notice that Elliott made a 43 yarder earlier, no sweat.
End of story. It wasn't "blocked". At most it was barely tipped because the kick was too low and pulled left and, since the horizontal angle didn't appear to be altered significantly, probably would have missed anyway. For those of you talking about how "he made the first one" (that was iced as expected and would never have mattered either way), it was still a shit kick even though technically "good". It wasn't well struck, was too low, and barely had the distance--don't know if that was visible on TV. "Iced" kicks don't count anyway and we have all seen many times how an iced attempt is not good but the REAL one that counts is.
Bottom line:
Despite all the other factors, PARKEY HAS TO MAKE THAT KICK AND THERE'S NO LEGIT EXCUSE FOR MISSING.
