Vikings will win this game. If Rams are also winning, Nagy will sit the starters at some point in the second half. I just hope we don't have any major injuries. We are going to play them three times.
I hope Nagy tries to win the game. I do not think there is a way to lose a game and it has an impact on the team anything other than in a negative way.
IMO this is part of the "culture change" that we need to see for the Bears long term. That we are always doing our dead best to win each and every game.
Seems like I've heard this over at purple pain many times as well. I hope you guys are trying to win this game. The Vikings have too many quarters looking like hot garbage for me to get too excited about them in the playoffs. I want to see their new OC can take it to a legit defense, which you guys definitely have... I might be a believer at that point. Otherwise, I'd just assume we go home.

You play the games to win them. It seems a simple concept to me. We have a team with a very stout defense and a green, developing QB.
Trubisky has been developing nicely but I want to see if he has what it takes in this level of competition. I expect that you guys will bring it on Sunday an I expect that we will do the same.

I feel the exact same way.

I disagree. I would certainly like to win this game and have the Rams lose, so we get the second seed. Nagy will start the game with this idea, and he should.
However, as the game progresses and it becomes clear that the Rams are winning their game, Nagy should sit his starters. That has TWO benefits: (1) avoid injuries, and (2) reduce the momentum the Vikings gain by beating us in this game. That is, if we are playing without the starters for a substantial part of the game, then the loss has less psychological significance for the teams. I think there is about a 10% chance that the Bears win this game AND the Rams lose theirs. That will factor into Nagy’s thinking at some point during the game. Obviously, the third game with the Vikings is more important than the second, so I just want to come out of this game (and probable loss) with minimal physical and psychological scars going into the next. If I am proven wrong, I will joyfully eat crow.
The third game with the Vikings is not set in stone. There are several scenarios in which that third game will not take place. However, for the Bears and the Vikings to go anywhere in the playoffs beating a team with a winning record is a must. So far, the Bears haven't beaten a team with a winning record on the road. Resting players is one thing, maintaining momentum is something else.

Those are all good points. It will be interesting to see how it all ends up on Sunday.
