I have no idea tonight which version of the Bears will show up Thursday night. While I don't see a win I believe if they play as well on defense and maybe have a STeam score they can make a game out of it. If we have to depend on Glennon and the offense alone I don't see any way to win.Holding Rodgers to less than 23-24 points is nigh onto impossible and we can't score that many on offense alone so it's tough to see a win but very easy to see why GB is a 7.5 point favorite at home. Without some big turnovers or an STs score we're still a 16-17 point offense at best playing a team with a 23-30 point offense.
That's the reality of it.
Even with what I've chosen to label "Peak Glennon", the Bears O has about a 20 point ceiling and it's pretty hard to hold Rodgers under 20, especially at home. We are gonna need a few gifts to win.
This is the same offense we ran last year but with a different QB whose no better at pushing his team downfield for TDs than Hoyer was. Plus both have that exact same lack of desire to even test a secondary down field. We may not have a top shelf WR core but it's still far better than one that featured Devin Hester as our #1 and Earl Bennett as our possession guy.
We threw downfield then because we had a QB who could and would do it. Now we don't or if we do he's on the bench. Today Loggains says Glennon is doing exactly what he needs to do to win so this isn't gonna change. This is the offense Fox wants to run so Loggains is doing as he's asked.
No one believes Glennon gives us the best shot at winning or that most weeks he even can but it's not gonna change as long as Fox and Loggains keep this up. It's kind of beyond stupid but then so are the Bears about 90% of the time.
