Well at least you have a HoF qb to look forward to watching. We have OMGlennon, and who's he's throwing to is as bad as he is.
so yeah. But a HOF quarterback will win you enough games to get in the playoffs each year but defense wins championships. We're going on 25 years of HOF play from the quarterback position with only two Lombardis to show for it. Look what the Niners and patriots have done in a short span when they've given their GOAT a decent defense. Last week Rodgers was 0-7 in overtime games. Looks bad for him until you realize that in four of those games he never touched the ball in overtime.
You keep Fangio and get Trubisky developed and you are going to be in business
Even with GB banged up its a tall order to expect Bears to win on the road in a short week. OMGlennon is zero threat to hurt anyone through the air so all you have to do is not let Howard/Cohen run all over you and Rodgers will put up enough to points to win.
The Bears will need several, not one but several, Packers' screwups to have a chance to win.

it may come down to turnovers. Two street tackles will be starting for GB. THe Bears could knock Rodgers out of the game in the first series.
All Green Bay needs to do is put 9-10 guys covering the run game, Glennon will throw 3-4 pass right to your defense, 50% of the other passes will be off target or dropped by our players lined up as Wide Receivers( actually calling them wide receivers is a false narrative). I really hope Don Cappers is not reading this thread. I have just created the complete blueprint to defeating the Chicago Bears.

I'll boil it down simply:
Rodgers with poor protection >>> Glennon with good protection
The Bears will need some magic (sack-fumbles, picks, ST miracles) to win. The John Fox formula of expecting his RBs to gain 200+ yards is hard to sustain week after week. It worked Sunday vs Pitt because the temp was almost 90 and the Steelers D got gassed. It will much cooler Thursday night on Green Bay.
I have no idea tonight which version of the Bears will show up Thursday night. While I don't see a win I believe if they play as well on defense and maybe have a STeam score they can make a game out of it. If we have to depend on Glennon and the offense alone I don't see any way to win.
Holding Rodgers to less than 23-24 points is nigh onto impossible and we can't score that many on offense alone so it's tough to see a win but very easy to see why GB is a 7.5 point favorite at home. Without some big turnovers or an STs score we're still a 16-17 point offense at best playing a team with a 23-30 point offense.

That's the reality of it.
That's the whole problem, isn't it?
Even with what I've chosen to label "Peak Glennon", the Bears O has about a 20 point ceiling and it's pretty hard to hold Rodgers under 20, especially at home. We are gonna need a few gifts to win.
