The torches and pitchforks are out. I don't think throwing the mob Glennon is gonna completely calm everyone down. Fans are tired of watching a butt-ugly Chicago Bears team over the years. I think Ryan Pace is going to be feeling a bit of a hot seat now. At least it's gonna warm up a bit. We can argue if we agree or disagree with that, but Bears fans are getting mighty tired of the clown show.

Mike Glennon has to go, and he can take Bears coach John Fox with him
The Bears should’ve fired John Fox in August when he called pass plays for second overall draft choice Mitch Trubisky at the end of the most meaningless practice game that teams play.
But the Bears have a long, wide and deep streak of stupid, so Fox remained coach.
The Bears should’ve fired Fox on Sunday after be put the terminally inadequate quarterback Mike Glennon back in the game following his pick six, which followed his turnover on a sack-strip in Bears territory, which followed his red-zone interception. That’s your basic Jay Cutler hat trick from a guy we were told protected the ball.
Fox brought his team to Tampa to face an opponent that hadn’t played a game for about a month. That should’ve been an advantage for the Bears.
But no. Fox’s Bears stunk all over the place. I mean, just look:
Glennon’s two interceptions, his fumble, rookie Tarik Cohen’s fumble on a punt that the Bucs were going to down, and then, as if the Bears hadn’t embarrassed themselves and their preparation enough, they committed three defensive holding penalties, two on one drive and all of them on plays when the Bears had the Bucs stopped.
And so, Fox continued his amazing run of going 0-for-September as Bears coach. And he was still employed by a franchise that couldn’t identify a top coach at a Belichick Thanksgiving.
This was alleged to be the Glennon “revenge’’ game. Instead, Glennon made sure this would be the “underscore’’ game by underscoring why the Bucs benched him twice after giving him the starting job.
The Bears should’ve been the third team to bench him. But no. Didn’t happen, and the only excuse for not playing Trubisky is the coaching staff is too stupid to know how to develop him.
If the Bears believe they couldn’t play Trubisky because the Bucs defense would’ve been teeing off on the rookie, then go with run plays or quick passes. He needs snaps. Game snaps. You’re not protecting Trubisky that way. But by not playing him in such a game, you’re retarding his growth.
Look, there’s no good time to play a rookie. That’s why you just play him. Start the meter on his mistakes. If you’re waiting until everything’s perfect with this franchise, then you will die without friends.
Oh, and by the way, this kind of stupidity easily could anger the defense, if not also the other players on offense. They know who’s playing well and who’s not. Good way to lose a locker room if you’re a coach. Good way to lose a locker room the way you’ve lost the fan base.
Is Virginia McCaskey pissed yet? Because everyone else is.
Oh, and get a load of this: Down 23-0 with less than two minutes left in the first half and the ball on the Bears 47, Fox punted. Honest. No lie. True fact. Fox was playing field position because I guess he believes the Bears can come back from 23 points. Fox’s Bears scored more than 23 points twice last season. It was time to get smart. But no. Didn’t happen. Not with this guy in charge.
And when Fox went for it on fourth-and-10 at the Bucs 14 late in the game, Glennon threw it way short.
And that useless TD pass with 1:43 to go? Who cares. Fox probably thinks he helped build confidence in a player no sane person should have confidence in.
Fox said he wouldn't consider a quarterback change next week. Don't hop off a death spiral when it's hot. I guess.
How does Fox keep his job?
Ditto, Glennon.
I’ll hang up and listen for Ryan Pace’s silence. And inertia. And high tolerance for embarrassment.
If that couldn’t stop the Bears’ long, wide and deep streak of stupid, then Fox would have to go. Right there on the sidelines. Just as soon as he sent Glennon out to the huddle down 23-0.
It was time for Trubisky. If Glennon is going to turn the ball over, then he’s as big a waste of time and money as Fox.
But no. There was Glennon. Fox said he never thought of changing. Please, someone, anyone, stop the stupid. Fire Fox and make him take Glennon with him.
