I will admit I also have a stigma against Texas Tech QBs. The system lately has been QB friendly. Cal and Goff... questionable at the moment. I worry if David Webb is worth it. Today definitely helped him in my eyes.
CJ is definitely one of my guys, but he probably isn't much more than a backup either.
Russell Wilson is a different case. He didn't technical lose his job, he put the coach in a tough position. It wasn't a matter of talent, maybe the coach questioned if Rus was as good as he'd be and wanted to let Glennon go. But, Russell played a lot of games, a lot of tape to evaluate, and the forced move to Wisconsin only helped him. Watching him elevate the Wisconsin team the way he did was amazing. He would have been a 1st rounder if not for his size.

You can extend your feeling against Texas Tech QBs to a lot of Big 12 QBs. Many operate out of gimmick offenses where their stats get inflated simply based on the offensive system.
I am not trying to say that Webb is going to be a stud in the NFL, just that players transfer programs all the time to maximize exposure. While he looked good in today's Senior Bowl, I have no idea what that translates into his draft potential. If the assessment by the pro scouts indicates he can be an NFL starter, I hope it works out for him.
I really really liked Youngstown State edge rusher Derek Rivers. East Carolina receiver Zay Jones had an impressive day too. That guy is going to have a good NFL career. I thought Peterman looked a bit disappointing. For whatever reason, Fox had him get the bulk of the snaps (by far) in the game (Beatherd only got 2 pass attempts for the entire game), giving him every opportunity to shine. He fumbled the ball away and threw an int - and missed a wide open receiver in the end zone (threw a wild ball 4 yards over his head). He wasn't bad, but he sure didn't look as impressive as the other side's QB, Davis Webb who in three drives of play, led the team to scores on all three for the win.
The TE, O.J. Howard looks like he'd be a great player to have in a Bears uniform.
I'm still a fan of Kupp but Zay Jones stole the show for WRs. The RB, Hunt, had a spectacular game as well. I was disappointed that Beathard didn't get more time but they obviously were not interested in seeing him. He threw a great pass for a TD that got called back due to holding.
Iowa fans went crazy on social media when Beathard threw that TD. Everyone was making comments about how good he is when he has a coach that calls pass plays and he has WRs to throw to. Beathard's OC and WR corp is what killed him this season.

I was kind of pissed that Beathard only got 2 pass plays while the much-hyped Nate Peterman got so much time to prove himself.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the Bears were using the Senior Bowl to get an in depth look at Peterman.

I wondered the exact same thing. Maybe it was a long test drive of Peterman. And he didn't do bad. But he didn't wow me either.
Based on what I saw from Webb, he could be a nice day 3rd or 4th round pick. I'd take him over Peterman. Obviously I would prefer a QB like Watson or Trubisky.
