Sure. As long as it's not a QB. Both the Browns and the 49ers need QBs and hopefully one or both is stupid enough to reach for one. Teams have a 20-30% hit rate on finding a starting QB in Rd 1. There are many drafts that there wasn't a single decent QB drafted in the first rd. I'd hate to see them reach on a bust or a mediocre QB.
The best QBs of the past decade were not drafted in the top 5 (Brady, Brees, ARodg, Rothlesberger) but there are busts that have been. I'm not sold on drafting a QB that high unless there is a consensus top QB to take and here is why..
Historically look how the past 6 drafts have gone:
2016 it's early but the QB draft class looks solid. Although I'm not sold on the top 2 QBs ending up the best in last years draft. Time will tell.
2015 the top 2 picks look like keepers. But then it gets less clear.
2014 Blake Bortles was taken #3 w/Manziel at #22 and Bridgewater at #32 (David Carr & Garropolo went in the 2nd Rd).
2013 EJ Manuel was the only QB in the 1st Rd.
2012 was consensus #1 Andrew Luck but RGII went #2 and Andrew Weeden was the other 1st rounder.
2011 also had a consensus #1 Cam Newton but Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert and Christian Ponder were 1st rounders.
2010 had Sam Bradford go 1st overall and Tim Tebow went in the 1st Rd.
If there is a trend it's take the can't miss QB but outside of the blue chippers how many of those other 1st Rd QBs would you take? In a draft year that is considered weak at top QBs I would hate to see the Bears waste a top pick on a reach. Would Bears fans be happy with a Blake Bortles or worse at QB?
I would prefer the Bears to get the best QB available with their 2nd rd pick.
