Since receiver Kevin White was selected by the Bears with the seventh pick in the 2015 draft, he has finished each of his first two seasons on injured reserve after undergoing leg surgery.
Despite the ominous start to his career, Bears general manager Ryan Pace still believes that White possesses the same explosiveness that helped him run a blazing 4.35 in the 40 at the Combine.
"This is 100 percent recoverable," Pace said this week.
"It was the same leg, but it was two different injuries. So I feel he's in a really good spot with that right now. He's such a positive outlook guy. Kevin is wanting to go, go, go, go, and I'm always like slow down on this, let's make sure we're doing this right so when you come back everything is in line—your gait, your hips, your hamstrings—so you're ready to go full speed."
White missed his entire rookie season in 2015 with a stress fracture in his left leg. He returned to play in the first four games this season before sustaining a fractured fibula and high ankle sprain in the same leg in a Week 4 win over the Lions.
White was placed on injured reserve after catching 19 passes against the Texans, Eagles, Cowboys and Lions—the most ever by a Bears player in the first four games of a season.

You guys agree he will come back explosive or is he our next bust?
My personal feeling is that he has not been fast even when not injured ( I think that was 35 minutes on day and another 17 minutes a different day) because he simply is not confident in his play. I don't think he really knows where to be and does not have the confidence in his routes. I actually do think that he will be 100%, but I don;t think that will be reflected until he "gets it". I am not 100% sure that will happen however.
Dude has had 2 surgeries on the same leg and only played 4 games out of 32.
How many WRs missed that amount of time and still looked great?
What we did see of him was some of the sloppiest plays a WR can do.
Issues with hands, routes, and etc...
Seeing that we do have a legit #2 WR do we play to win and have Meredith start or do we give White the floor again and hope he isn't the bust we all think he is?

Yep, there's track speed and game speed and he plays slow. To date we've gotten more out of Marquis Wilson for the 7th round pick we spent on him than we have out of White and that's not saying much.
I realize the necessity Pace has to keep "selling" him to fans but I don't have to buy what he's selling 'til I see some production that says he can even be a decent possession receiver let alone this kid who can take the top off a defense.
