Texas added the final piece to its on-field coaching staff on Tuesday, as Chicago Bears running backs coach Stan Drayton agreed to a multi-year deal to join the Longhorns. Drayton will serve as associate head coach and run game coordinator.
Can't believe he would give up the opportunity to continue to "learn" under John Fox

Okay. Now it actually makes sense and it's understandable. Good luck in TX, coach.
Jeez, Fox told us it was a happy happy locker room. Why would he leave such a happy place to go back to college. If I didn't know any better I would think Fox is lying to us.
Let me think about that for a second... No Honeybears here, college cheerleaders at college. Hmmm, I think I'm outta here too!
Serious;y though, not happy about it, but you can't stop a guy from doing what he wants with his career.

no... I agree. What I don't know is if he WANTED to go to the college game or wanted to leave Chicago. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was going because he felt it was a better opportunity. How sad would it be if it was to get out of here.

Gotcha. Still, being the man in college is better than an RB coach in the NFL. I'd make that jump myself, and not just for the cheerleaders. If it's not a happy place here as advertised, we'll see more rats leaving the ship. Let's see what Pace & crew say tomorrow, and what happens in the next few weeks as far as people leaving or not.

I am guessing Fox is staying. I would think they would want to start the search right away and would have let him go as soon as possible if they were going to, but you never know.

Yup. I think Ol' Foxy is staying too, unfortunately. The question is how many of the lesser coaching staff are going to leave, and why. We may never get a straight answer from Pace or Fox, but if several guys leave instead of just a couple, it might mean something's blowing in the wind through Halas Hall.
He's got a relationship with Herman and 2 other coaches on that staff. He gets a chance at a coordinator type position to help advance his career...and knowing Texas...I'm sure he's getting paid pretty well. But I'm sure some will use it to fill some sort of narrative.
First offseason decision and I already dislike it.
It sounds like the decision was his. I really don't see why they would let him go if it was up to the Bears.
Are the rats jumping the good ship SS Titanic Fox? Leaving the pros to return to the college ranks when you have a successful record in the pros is a bit odd.
